3 found dead in burning car after crash, Fort Collins police say
FORT COLLINS, Colo — Three people were found dead in a burning car after a crash early Thursday morning, Fort Collins police said. Police said just before 2:30 a.m., a Larimer County Sheriff’s deputy came upon a Volkswagen Jetta in the middle of the road in the 5800 block of South Taft Hill Road. The car was on fire, police said, and the deputy saw two people inside who appeared to be deceased.

A Port Townsend man was injured in a hit-and-run vehicle collision Thursday morning, Feb. 15 along Interstate 5 in SeaTac, just north of Kent. The crash occurred along southbound I-5 at about 6:22 a.m., just north of South 200th Street, according to the Washington State Patrol. A vehicle was traveling southbound in lane one when it collided with a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder, according to the State Patrol. The first vehicle drifted from lane one to the right shoulder.

GRAY COUNTY, Texas (KVII) — A stranded truck driver probably saved his own life by diving under his trailer to keep from getting hit by another semi on I-40. The crash happened after 7 p.m. near Groom. According to DPS, a semi broke down at mile marker 122. The driver got out to inspect his tractor trailer and put out traffic cones to warn other drivers. That’s when another eastbound semi rear ended his big rig.

Three people avoided serious injuries after a crash involving a disabled vehicle on I-95 in Bristol Township. Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched last Friday just before 10 p.m. for a reported crash in the northbound lanes of the highway. The 25-year-old Bristol man who was the driver of the 2019 Nissan Sentra and the 28-year-old Bristol woman who was his passenger had pulled over due to a flat tire. The car had its flashers on while the two awaited assistance, troopers said.

EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) - One person was taken to an area hospital after a rear-end collision that occurred Tuesday night while the driver of one of the vehicles had stopped to check a GPS device while on Interstate 35 in Lyon County, authorities said. The crash was reported at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday on I-35 along the Kansas Turnpike, about a mile south of the Emporia exit. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2011 Mercedes-Benz M Class sport utility vehicle was stopped in the right lane of southbound I-35 as the driver was checking a GPS device when it was rear-ended by a Honda CR-V SUV that was southbound and was unable to avoid the collision as the left lane was occupied.

SACRAMENTO — An 8-year-old boy died and his 9-year-old sister was badly injured after being hit by a vehicle on a Sacramento highway over the weekend. The children’s mother, who was with them when they were hit, spoke to CBS13 Tuesday night. It happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. along westbound Highway 50 near 65th Street. The mother, Yari Quirarte, said she was traveling with her children to a Super Bowl party in Sacramento from Rancho Cordova when her vehicle’s tire blew out.

A man was struck and killed on Interstate 75 in Broward County Monday night after he got out of his car to assist another driver, authorities said. The incident happened shortly after 7 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 between Griffin Road and Royal Palm Boulevard in Davie. Florida Highway Patrol officials said a 66-year-old man had parked on the shoulder of the highway and walked across it to assist a disabled motorist.

HUBER HEIGHTS — One person is critically injured after a crash on Interstate 70 eastbound in Huber Heights Monday morning, according to Huber Heights Police Department Sergeant David Culver. Just before 3 a.m., Huber Heights police and medics were dispatched to I-70 EB at SR-202 and Old Troy Pike on reports of a single-vehicle crash into the center median. While officers were on the way to the scene, a bystander driving a work truck with hazard lights stopped to check on the driver, Culver said.

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol said one person died and five other people were injured in a crash involving a disabled vehicle on I-85 in Greenville County. According to troopers, the crash happened at midnight Monday in the northbound lanes near mile marker 41. Troopers say a car was disabled and was hit by a minivan. Five people in the van were injured and taken to a hospital.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Pulido was driving behind a car early Sunday morning on I-95 South when she stopped in one of the center lanes to help other drivers involved in a crash.
