Man struck and killed picking up crash debris in Tulare County identified
CUTLER, Calif. (KFSN) – The man who was struck and killed as he was picking up debris from a crash on a Tulare County highway has been identified. Family members have identified him as 50-year-old Marin Apodaca of Cutler. They say he was trying to help someone who had just been in a car crash moments before. The California Highway Patrol says the crash happened just before 6 a.m. Friday on Highway 63 and Avenue 392, just south of Cutler.

CENTRAL, La. (WAFB) - A pedestrian is dead following a major crash in Central on Thursday evening, Sept. 26. The Central Police Department responded to the crash around 6:08 p.m. at Magnolia Bridge Road and Greenwell Springs Road. According to Chief Roger Corcoran, the pedestrian was changing a tire on the North shoulder headed west when they were struck by another vehicle headed the same direction. The pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - A rear-end collision on I-70 near Highway 69 led to the death of a 78-year-old Kansas City man and life-threatening injuries for two drivers. The Kansas Highway Patrol indicates that around 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, emergency crews were called to the area of westbound I-70 and Highway 69 with reports of a 2-vehicle collision. When first responders arrived, they said they found that Lori Wiggins, 60, of Kansas City, Kansas, had pulled her 2014 Jeep Cherokee over to the shoulder of the westbound lanes of the interstate.

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (WLS) – A person was injured in a crash involving a semi Thursday evening on I-90 in the northwest suburbs. The crash happened around 4:44 p.m. near Roselle Road in Schaumburg, Illinois State Police said. A gray Chevrolet SUV struck the rear of a truck-tractor semi-trailer that was parked on the right shoulder of I-90, police said. Chopper was over the scene, and the SUV appeared to have extensive damage.

FRANKLIN, MO, (September 26, 2024) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) says four men were seriously hurt after being hit by a motor vehicle in Franklin County’s Villa Ridge Thursday afternoon. The incident happened at approximately 2:32 p.m. along Interstate 44 at mile marker 250. According to the Highway Patrol’s report, all the victims had parked their vehicles—a 2007 Dodge Ram and a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban—to change a tire. Meanwhile, a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 27-year-old Rolla man was traveling westbound on the highway when it attempted to slow for traffic ahead.

(KGET) — A man is dead Thursday morning after pushing his disabled vehicle when he was hit from behind by another car on 7th Standard Road, according to the Bakersfield Police Department. The crash happened at 12:05 a.m. in the 3200 block of 7th Standard Road, just west of Zachary Avenue. When BPD officers arrived at the scene they found an adult man laying in the roadway with major injuries.

ABILENE, Texas — Interstate 20 is shut down near mile marker 293 or the Elmdale exit after multiple 18-wheelers and two passenger cars were involved in a crash. Officials on scene said the blue 18-wheeler was driving westbound on I-20 when one of its tires blew out. The driver crossed the center median while dragging a cable. The driver in the red 18-wheeler was heading eastbound and swerved into the median to dodge the westbound 18-wheeler.

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Work crews found a body in a car Monday on I-75 near Riverview weeks after a crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A Mazda Miata was found near mile-marker 252, troopers said, which is between the Gibsonton Drive and US-301 exits. FHP believes the crash happened along the west shoulder sometime in the past several weeks, but the exact date and time is unknown. The man who was found has not been identified, and he was the only person in the vehicle, troopers said.
