Bradenton trucker dies after hitting disabled pickup, crashing into canal
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 67-year-old Bradenton man died after crashing into an unoccupied pickup truck on I-75 in Collier County early Friday morning, according to the Florida HIgway Patrol. Around 12:49 a.m., the man was traveling westbound on I-75, approaching mile marker 82 when he collided with an unoccupied truck that was involved in another crash. FHP said that the truck was still obstructing the right travel lane and shoulder of northbound I-75.

TEMPE, Ariz. — A person is dead after a fiery crash in Tempe Friday. During morning rush hour, two vehicles collided on the Loop 202 eastbound near Priest Drive. Several lanes were blocked after the crash. Officials with the Arizona Department of Public Safety said a person has died from the crash. DPS also said a vehicle involved in the crash caught fire. The crash involved a pickup truck hauling a trailer that was parked on the left shoulder of the freeway due to mechanical issues.

EAST LACKAWANNOCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man died in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Mercer County Wednesday morning. The crash happened at 5:45 a.m. in East Lackawannock Township. According to a state police report, a tractor-trailer was traveling east in the right-hand lane when it skidded on the snow-covered road, causing it to travel across the left lane and hit the median-side ditch. The trailer was partially blocking both lanes when another tractor-trailer in the right lane attempted to avoid a collision by driving on the right berm.

A crash on Route 80 east left one person with serious injuries Tuesday evening in Wharton. According to the state police, a Subaru SUV and a Volvo were traveling eastbound on I-80 at 7:40 p.m. The Subaru SUV, driven by a 32-year-old Highland Lakes resident, abruptly slowed down at milepost 38.8 and came to a halt in the lanes of travel due to a prior crash. The stationary Subaru was rear-ended by the Volvo tractor-trailer, driven by a 63-year-old Scranton, Pennsylvania resident.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – One person died in a crash early Wednesday involving four tractor-trailers on the Interstate 65 southbound off-ramp to Memphis Blue Lick Road in southern Indiana. It happened just before 5:30 a.m., according to a news release from the Indiana State Police post in Sellersburg. A 911 caller reported a semi truck had rear-ended another semi on the ramp. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the driver of a 2017 Volvo semi-truck trapped in the cab of the tractor.

Police say 44-year-old Mahlon Coblentz of Kentucky was outside his vehicle shortly after 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, trying to get traffic to stop for a crash involving a different car at the State Road 13 bridge over the Toll Road. The initial crash was a single car crash blocking both lanes of State Road 13.

In south suburban Matteson, the road conditions led to two separate pileup accidents in south suburban Matteson. Altogether, tow trucks hauled away close to 15 vehicles. Earl Stoxsell rushed down to the site of one of the pileups on Vollmer Road after his wife called. The ice on the road left car after car sliding off.

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A man was killed and two other people injured after a semi crashed into a disabled vehicle Sunday night on Interstate 70 eastbound in Wheat Ridge, according to police. The crash on I-70 happened west of Wadsworth Boulevard at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said a vehicle was towing another vehicle with a tow strap, and the strap broke, stranding the disabled vehicle in the center lane.

Police said a Toyota pickup was towing another Toyota pickup and had stopped in the right main lane of the highway due to a flat. There was no shoulder lane in the area, and the road was dark as the street lights were off.

Illinois State Police say two pedestrians were killed when walking on US 50 near Big Four Road in Clay County early Sunday night. The preliminary investigation indicates a vehicle traveling eastbound struck two pedestrians walking in the roadway after their vehicle became disabled in the westbound lane. Both pedestrians were pronounced deceased on the scene by the Clay County Coroner. The driver of the vehicle, along with two passengers, reported no injuries on the scene.
