Man who had just been in Cleveland Route 2 crash dodges out-of-control vehicle by jumping wall
CLEVELAND — Traffic crashes closed Route 2 westbound Downtown Sunday morning and sent a 36-year-old man who survived a miraculous jump over the freeway wall to the hospital. “He didn’t get out scot-free, but [it was a] pretty good result for what he went through,” said Cleveland Fire Lt. Mike Norman. Three crashes involving three vehicles happened around 10 a.m. Sunday near the West 3rd and West 6th street entrances. Cleveland Fire Department officials believe icy road conditions may have been caused by the shadows from nearby buildings.

NORTH SALT LAKE, Utah (KUTV) — A crash early Friday morning in Davis County created a hazardous situation for hundreds of vehicles before the Utah Highway Patrol arrived and closed all but one lane on southbound I-15. The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 2 on a section of the interstate that branches off to I-215 and intersects with Highway 89 near the northern Salt Lake County border. The rainy conditions left the road surface slick and covered with standing water while simultaneously erasing the reflective lane striping.

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Three people suffering from non-life threatening injuries following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 on Thursday. According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, the crash took place at mile marker 61, just south of West Hundred Road. As of 1 a.m., the interstate had re-opened. A spokesperson with Virginia State Police said when they arrived on scene, they found a three-vehicle crash. Then, two additional vehicles struck debris from the crash, causing them to be disabled just north of the exit.

ROCK COUNTY (WKOW) – Almost exactly one year ago, a massive pileup near Beloit left dozens hurt. On Jan. 27, 2023, all lanes of I-39/90 were shut down after the crash. One after another, cars smashed into each other. Initial reports from that day show roughly 50 cars crashed, but an investigation shows more than quadruple that were involved. 27 News sat down with one of the first officials on scene to learn what exactly caused the crash.

Muddy conditions in Yolo County may have snarled traffic over eastbound Interstate 80, causing a nine-vehicle crash Thursday just east of the Yolo Causeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. It started about 7:40 a.m. when three vehicles collided with one another, blocking two lanes just as Interstate 80 splits with the Highway 50 portion of the Capital City Freeway. The crash grew, involving four or five vehicles, the CHP Woodland office said in its incident log.

ROCK COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) – One man was arrested and another person suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash Thursday involving a disabled vehicle, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. The crash was reported near Janesville at 6:07 a.m. on Interstate 90 eastbound. Officials say a pickup truck crashed into the median wall near mile-marker 175. The truck was disabled in the far-left lane. Prior to troopers arriving on scene, additional vehicles hit the disabled pickup truck.

HUBBARD COUNTY, Minn. — One teen is dead and four other people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Lake Emma Township. The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office said the three-vehicle collision occurred just before 6:30 p.m. when a 16-year-old driving a pickup crashed into another vehicle — a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox — along County Road 4. A 15-year-old passenger in the pickup was severely injured, and was taken out of the vehicle.

CASTLE PINES, Colo. — Two people who had gotten out of their vehicle following a four-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 25 were seriously hurt when a semi-truck driver came through the crash scene and caused another crash, the Colorado State Patrol said. A spokesperson for the agency said excessive speed was a factor in the initial crash, which happened in the southbound lanes of the highway near Castle Pines. After the crash, the vehicles involved ended up on both shoulders of the highway, according to CSP.

In an incident late last night on Highway 24, one mile east of Moberly, Missouri, two individuals lost their lives. The crash, which occurred at approximately 11:57 p.m., involved two westbound tractor-trailers. The Missouri State Highway Patrol has confirmed the details of the crash. According to the report, a 2022 Kenworth tractor-trailer was stopped partially off the roadway, with its towed unit blocking both lanes of Highway 24. The driver of the Kenworth was outside the vehicle when a 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer, driven by 61-year-old Michael D.

Police said the 30-year-old victim was involved in a crash on the southbound side of the freeway near 7 Mile around 12:50 a.m. After the crash, she got out of her vehicle, which was along the right shoulder, and was walking in the road. She was hit by another driver who stayed at the scene.
