Norman Police investigate deadly multi-vehicle crash on Hwy 9
NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) – Norman Police are investigating a fatal multi-vehicle crash on State Highway 9 on March 1. According to the Normal Police Department, the accident happened between 48th Avenue SE and 60th Avenue SE on Highway 9 around 7:04 p.m. on Friday, March 1. Officials say the first investigation into the wreck suggests that a car traveling westbound on Hwy 9 crossed left of center crashing head-on with a car moving eastbound.

Lubbock, Texas – A woman was killed Friday night after being struck by a vehicle following a rollover crash in Lubbock, according to the police. The fatal crash happened just after 10:00 p.m., March 1, in the area of Marsha Sharp Freeway and W Loop 289. Police said two vehicles collided on the overpass. 31-year-old Sara Hill was outside of her vehicle that was disabled when an eastbound pickup truck hit the vehicle and also struck Hill.

A 23-year-old Murrieta woman was killed early Friday, March 1, when she was run over after her car crashed on the 15 Freeway near the San Diego County line, the California Highway Patrol said. The crash resulted in an hours-long traffic jam. Ariel Bridgeman was driving her 2021 Honda Accord north on the 15 around 4:45 a.m. when her car veered off of the shoulder, crashed through a chain-link fence and struck an embankment, the CHP said.

BUTTONWILLOW, Calif. (KGET) — Two people were hospitalized after a vehicle collided with a disabled car on Highway 58 west of Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP said on Thursday morning just before 6:30 a.m., the Bakersfield Communications Center received a call of a traffic crash in the area of State Route 58 east of Bussell Road. Officers from the California Highway Patrol Buttonwillow area office responded to the scene.

The California Highway Patrol Coastal Division said Wednesday its teams rescued a man who had been stranded for two days after accidentally driving off a cliffside. On Tuesday, the Coast Division Air Operations Unit was asked to send out a team to search for a possible vehicle off the side of the coastline between Big Sur and Carmel after an employee of a local establishment did not make it home on Sunday night, authorities said.

CHAVES COUNTY — At around 2:30 p.m. Feb. 27, 2024, New Mexico State Police (NMSP) was called to investigate a fatal crash involving multiple vehicles on U.S. Highway 285 and the intersection of East Orchard Park Road south of Roswell. The initial investigation indicated that a Ford pickup truck, driven by a 46-year-old male, was trying to cross 285 from East Orchard Park Road. A 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a 43-year-old male struck the Ford pickup truck as it crossed 285, causing both vehicles to become disabled in the northbound lanes.

TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Louisiana State Police Troopers are investigating a car crash that left one pedestrian dead and another injured on Thursday, Feb. 29. LSP leaders said around 5 a.m. troopers began investigating a single car fatal crash involving pedestrians on U.S. Highway 90 eastbound near milepost 192. An initial investigation revealed a prior crash occurred when an eastbound car on U.S. Hwy 90 struck a large object in the roadway that had fallen from a commercial vehicle.

An on-duty Sacramento Police Department detective crashed into a disabled pickup truck Tuesday morning on Interstate 5, killing two men standing near the truck, authorities said. The police vehicle, an unmarked Ford Fusion, was heading southbound on I-5 around 6:15 a.m. when it crashed into a white Dodge pickup truck stopped on the right shoulder just south of Sutterville Road, the California Highway Patrol’s South Sacramento office said in a news release.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — ALL LANES HAVE BEEN REOPENED. A truck driver is dead after a crash on I-85 N in Davidson County, according to troopers. The crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. An Amazon tractor-trailer was stopped on the right shoulder of the highway and was hit by another tractor-trailer that was going north on I-85. The traveling tractor-trailer drove off the road to the left and crashed into several trees, killing the driver on the scene, according to troopers.

(WLNE) — A normal Monday morning commute to work quickly took a turn for Dan Toussaint. “I was actually getting ready to text Dan to tell him there was a bad accident on 95,” said Edward Yazbak, Toussaint’s father-in-law. “Because I know he comes that way and I know he would be leaving to go to the academy.” Toussaint, a resident of North Smithfield and recruit for the Coventry Police Department, saw a car collide with a tractor trailer a few hundred feet in front of him on I-95 North near Exit 9 in Exeter.
