Unbelted driver dies after swerving off Hwy 99 in Modesto, crashing into disabled vehicle
A man died Thursday night after swerving off southbound Highway 99 in the downtown Modesto area, crashing into a disabled vehicle that was sitting on the shoulder and being ejected from his vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision happened about 7:50 p.m. south of the South Ninth Street on-ramp. The CHP news release on the incident said the driver of the 2019 Chevrolet was traveling at high speed when he swerved to the right, onto the asphalt shoulder.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A crash in Jackson County might have killed a 33-year-old man believed to be from Eaton Rapids, according to deputies. The crash happened in Jackson County south of M-60 near McCain Road. It was two people walking in the woods on their property who spotted the wrecked car. Investigators said it appeared the driver of the car lost control on a curve, crossed over the highway and hit several trees before he “crashed deep into the wood line.

One man was hit and killed Sunday morning after a crash on westbound Interstate 20, according to Fort Worth police. The man’s identity will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office after next-of-kin has been notified. Police said the man was in a minor crash with a semi-truck around 6:35 a.m. Sunday at I-20 and Farm Road 1187 in west Fort Worth, near the Interstate 30 split. The man exchanged information with the truck driver and called for a tow truck, but while he was outside he was hit by a third vehicle.

JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - Around 20 vehicles were involved in a massive multi-vehicle crash along U.S. Highway 84 in Jones County Wednesday morning. The Wyoming Highway Patrol says speed may be to blame for a two-vehicle crash that left one trucker dead and another injured. The crash happened around 10:10 a.m. last Thursday, Feb. 15, at milepost 19 on Wyoming 50 near Gillette. According to a fatality crash summary, a semi was headed north when the driver lost traction on the icy, snow-covered road and jackknifed, blocking the southbound lane. The driver of a southbound semi then crested the hill and struck the jackknifed semi’s passenger side drive axles, causing the southbound semi’s cargo tank to dislodge and impact the cab.

TREMONTON — The Utah Highway Patrol said two people were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following several crashes on westbound Interstate 84 in Box Elder County. In all, state troopers said four crashes occurred in the area of milepost 28 because of slick roads. The first crash occurred around 12:13 p.m., which involved a semi and a vehicle. One person was struck outside their vehicle after the first crash and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
