Good Samaritan Helping After Crash Fatally Struck by Another Car
A motorist trying to assist after a crash was fatally hit by another car in Missouri on Monday, according to a local report. The crash occurred when the driver of a Chevrolet Equinox veered off the road, struck a rock embankment and overturned on Interstate 70 in Independence. A Ford F-150 collided with the vehicle as it overturned, police said in a Facebook post. “Once that vehicle came to rest, another motorist happened to see the crash and stopped to check on the occupants of that vehicle,” Independence Public Information Officer Jack Taylor told FOX4.

Williamston police said it happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on the Roanoke River Bridge on U.S. 17. A vehicle had broken down, and those inside were pushing it off the bridge when another northbound vehicle hit the disabled vehicle and 67-year-old Melvin Francis.

Initial details about the fatal accident say that it happened at approximately 11:24 p.m. at the intersection of I-95 and Orange Avenue. According to current statements, a truck driver was standing along the shoulder of southbound interstate lanes of travel. While there, authorities say that another semi-truck tried to change lanes, apparently striking the mirror of another semi in the far right lane.

KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A man was hit and killed on M-6, the Michigan State Police say. Troopers responded to a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on eastbound M-6 near Kraft around noon Saturday. The initial report states that a man was outside of his vehicle and in the median when an eastbound vehicle lost control and went into the median, hitting him. Deputies have identified the pedestrian as a 25-year-old man from Hastings.

The crash involved a pickup truck hauling a trailer that was parked on the left shoulder of the freeway due to mechanical issues.

EAST LACKAWANNOCK TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man died in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Mercer County Wednesday morning. The crash happened at 5:45 a.m. in East Lackawannock Township. According to a state police report, a tractor-trailer was traveling east in the right-hand lane when it skidded on the snow-covered road, causing it to travel across the left lane and hit the median-side ditch. The trailer was partially blocking both lanes when another tractor-trailer in the right lane attempted to avoid a collision by driving on the right berm.

The stationary Subaru was rear-ended by the Volvo tractor-trailer, driven by a 63-year-old Scranton, Pennsylvania resident.
