Tuscaloosa woman hit, killed by 18-wheeler after getting out of car following crash identified
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - A 30-year-old Tuscaloosa woman has died after police say she was hit and killed by an 18-wheeler when she got out of her car after a crash. The woman has been identified as Kiana Marie Armstrong. Police say Armstrong was involved in a single-vehicle crash as she got off the exit ramp from I-20/59 and her car came to a rest across the middle of I-359 just before 5:30 a.

Jefferson County, AL — September 8, 2024, one person was killed following a rear-end truck accident at approximately 5:00 a.m. along Valley Road. According to authorities, a sedan was traveling on Valley Road in the vicinity of the U.S. Steel Parkway intersection when the accident took place. The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the sedan collided with the rear-end of a parked 18-wheeler.

A man standing next to a disabled vehicle was struck and killed on Columbus’ East Side Monday night, and a driver involved in the crash fled the scene, police said. At about 10:30 p.m., a 2004 Chevrolet Impala broke down on southbound Seltzer Road south of the East 5th Avenue intersection, police said. David Ford, 43, a passenger, exited the vehicle and stood near its driver’s side door. About five minutes later, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Stelzer Road struck the Impala from behind, police said.

The fiery and fatal crash that closed eastbound Interstate 80 for more than eight hours Saturday was caused by a semitrailer colliding into another commercial truck parked on the shoulder, the Wyoming Highway Patrol reports. The crash happened a little before 9:40 a.m. at milepost 223 near Rawlins, and WHP troopers found one truck on fire and wreckage across both lanes of traffic, said Trooper Ryan Gerdes in a Monday afternoon press release.

On 09/04/2024 at approximately 2026 hours, the driver of a 2003 Toyota Tundra was driving S/B on US-101, north of Shamrock Ranch; traveling through a right-hand curve in the roadway. For reasons still under investigation, the driver allowed the Toyota to drift across the road towards the east. The Toyota ran off the east paved road edge of US-101 and onto a dirt shoulder, leading to a slight descending embankment. The Toyota continued parallel to the highway until traveling back onto the paved, extended N/B shoulder, where a parked, unoccupied travel trailer was located.

According to officials, 26-year-old Josue David Soto was in a Toyota 4Runner going along the freeway. Up ahead, there was a Kia reportedly disabled in the lanes of travel. The Toyota struck the disabled Kia, then flipped over. As a result, Soto was seriously injured. There were no other confirmed injuries. Some of the key factors in any crash involving a disabled vehicle is whether or not the vehicle was visible, whether or not they were able to get their vehicle out of the travel lanes, and also why the vehicle was disabled.

DEKALB COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) - A 38-year-old woman died on Sunday morning after she was involved in two car crashes that left five others injured. A Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report indicated that Luci Pineda of Farmington, Minnesota, was driving on southbound Interstate 35 just north of Cameron, Missouri, at 5 a.m. when her 2000 Toyota 4Runner drove into the median and overcorrected. The vehicle returned back onto the interstate but overturned.

A hit-and-run driver remains outstanding after they collided with an overturned vehicle on the 101 Freeway and fled on foot. Preliminary information indicates that police had responded to the eastbound span of the 101 near Balboa Boulevard in Encino just before 3 a.m. Saturday on reports of an overturned red sedan blocking traffic. As first responders arrived on scene, another vehicle – said to be a gray Nissan – barreled into the overturned sedan.

CROMWELL, Conn. — Connecticut State Police are looking for the driver who hit a person on Interstate 91 in Cromwell on Friday evening. State police were called to respond near Exit 21 on I-91 South in Cromwell just after 8 p.m. Friday. A Tesla was parked on the right shoulder, and the 38-year-old driver was outside the car, troopers said. A small, white Honda sedan veered into the right shoulder and hit the Tesla and the Tesla’s driver, leaving him with serious injuries, state police said.
