Deadly multi-car pileup shuts down Highway 67 in northeast Arkansas, troopers say smoke from nearby grass fire to blame
JACKSON COUNTY, Ark. – A deadly crash involving multiple vehicles that was caused by smoke from a nearby fire has closed all lanes of Highway 67 in Jackson County in northeast Arkansas. Officials with the Arkansas State Police said 15 vehicles, including four commercial and 11 passenger cars were involved in the crash. Troopers on the ground said they believed there were multiple casualties at the scene, including two fatalities.

DETROIT (FOX 2) - One person is dead after crashing into a disabled U-Haul box truck on the SB Lodge near Seward in Detroit Monday afternoon. The victim, a 32-year-old driving a white Chevrolet Cobalt, changed lanes and struck the rear end of the box truck and died in the crash. The two people in the U-Haul were uninjured, according to Michigan State Police. Three children and one other adult inside the Cobalt suffered minor injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals.

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)- A teenager has died after being struck by a passing vehicle on I-526 Friday night. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as a 14-year-old from North Charleston. Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal said the victim was standing outside of the vehicle on Exit 16A toward W. Montague Avenue when he was struck and killed around 8:15 p.m. An investigation found that the victim’s vehicle was disabled and struck by a moving vehicle.

CHICAGO (CBS) – A UPS driver is seriously hurt after a crash in north suburban Morton Grove Friday afternoon. According to police just after 3 p.m., the 55-year-old driver was standing behind his parked truck in the 6400 block of Beckwith when a car crashed into him and his truck. The driver, who is from Mount Prospect, was transported to Lutheran General Hospital with serious injuries. Morton Grove Police and the Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating.

READING, Mass. — A pickup truck driver was killed in a crash involving a box truck on Interstate 93 in Reading early Thursday, officials said. Troopers responding to a report of a crash on the northbound side of the highway in the area of Commerce Way ramp just after 1 a.m. found a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado that had been rear-ended by a 2022 International MV607 box truck, according to Massachusetts State Police.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pedestrian fatally struck after walking away from his vehicle on the I-435 eastbound left hand shoulder early Thursday morning is bringing new attention to a recurring problem. A Scout camera captured the scene near the Grandview Road overpass at about 1 a.m. Thursday morning. According to the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, when the owner of a red Chevy Malibu parked on the shoulder walked into the nearby lane, the driver of a FedEx semi-truck hit him.

Just before 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, Southwest and South Jones volunteer fire departments responded to a tow vehicle collision on Highway 11 north of Moselle, between Armissie Road and Benson Cemetery Road. When first responders arrived the firefighters found that two vehicles in the northbound lane had collided, with the maroon truck having been disabled in the road prior to the collision. Both vehicles were damaged in the incident. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

There are no serious injuries from a Monday morning crash involving three semis and an SUV that hit a jackknifed 18-wheeler on I-90 west of Cle Elem. Troopers say the 18-wheeler driven by 35-year-old Karanveer Singh of Renton was eastbound on the Highway when it became jackknifed at a bend in the road. “Speed was a factor as the truck was coming eastbound around a corner, lost control and ended up jackknifing,” said State Patrol Trooper Jeremy Weber.

Palm Beach County sheriff’s officials said Liliana Francisco Vargas, 19, of Loxahatchee was driving a 2020 Toyota Rav4 with passenger Deric Lozano Varela, 21, of West Palm Beach eastbound on 60th Street North at about 2:45 a.m. when for unknown reasons, the Toyota left the road at the intersection with 190th Terrace North.
