Driver killed after pickup truck rear-ends vehicle on Sam Houston Parkway: police
HOUSTON - An investigation is underway following a deadly crash on Sam Houston Parkway on Wednesday evening. Details are limited, but officials said the crash occurred on Eastbound Sam Houston Parkway over U.S. 90. Authorities said a silver Nissan was disabled in a lane and was rear ended by a dually pickup truck. The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials added that the driver of the Nissan may have had a medical incident.

SMITH COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Three drivers are recovering after an early morning collision in Smith County left their tractor-trailers disabled along Interstate 40. According to Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), the incident took place at mile marker 252 on I-40 East just before 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22. Officials said a 2018 Freightliner tractor cab was traveling east along I-40 when it drifted out of its lane and crashed into a 2012 Kenworth tractor cab and a 2016 Volvo tractor cab parked on the right shoulder.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) – Two people were taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle crash in east Harris County on Tuesday morning. According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, one vehicle was jumpstarting another in the middle of the roadway on Sralla Road at FM-1942 when a third vehicle struck them. One person was taken to the hospital via Life Flight in critical condition and a second person was transported by ambulance in stable condition, Gonzalez said.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — One man is dead after a crash involving three vehicles Monday evening on U.S. Route 23 in Pickaway County. The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 23 near the Island Road overpass. The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office said a Lincoln, driven by 69-year-old Paul Wegmeyer, of Columbus, was struck from behind by another driver in a Jeep. Initial reports indicated Wegmeyer was stopped on Route 23 with his vehicle’s lights off when he was hit, according to the sheriff’s office.

Hampton, TN – March 19, 2023, one person was injured due to an accident where an 18-wheeler hit a pickup on Highway 19E. Tennessee Highway Patrol officials said they were called to the area of the crash early Sunday morning. It appears a pickup going northbound on US Highway 19E broke down and moved “partially out of the roadway.” The vehicle had its emergency lights on, authorities said. Approaching it, an 18-wheeler allegedly failed to exercise due care and crashed into the pickup.

The woman’s car started to run out of gas as she was driving northbound on Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County on March 19, FHP Sgt. Steve Gaskins told McClatchy News. Her car stopped working in the outside travel lane, according to a news release from Florida Highway Patrol.

It happened just before 4:00 am, on I-65 South near the Goose Creek Bypass and Peytonsville Road interchange. For reasons unknown, the man’s vehicle was stopped in a lane of travel on the interstate when it was rear-ended by another motorist. The driver of the vehicle that was struck was found severely injured outside of his vehicle.

A South Florida man who was trying to help a motorist who had run out of gas was fatally struck by a vehicle Wednesday night, authorities said. Erick Veilleux, 41, was struck by a white Honda traveling south on State Road 7 in Lauderhill, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Veilleux had parked his car in a northbound lane of the highway shortly before 11 p.m. EDT, the Miami Herald reported. The impact of the crash sent Veilleux across the median and into his car, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Highway patrol reports that around 12 passenger vehicles and 12 semi combinations were involved in the pileup. Additionally, an estimated 40 passenger vehicles and 30 semi combinations were stopped in the pileup and did not receive damage, with some entering the median to avoid collision.
