Woman hit by car while checking on accident on I-15
SPANISH FORK, Utah — A woman is in the hospital after being hit by a passing car on I-15 while she was out of her vehicle checking on someone in a separate crash. Utah Highway Patrol said around 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, a southbound vehicle hit the barrier near Spanish Fork. They said the weather conditions may have contributed to the crash. A driver stopped to check on the driver of the first vehicle.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Investigators are looking into a multi-vehicle crash that left an 18-year-old dead and several others in the hospital Thursday morning. The wreck, reported at about 6 a.m. on Houston TranStar, blocked several lanes of IH-69 Southwest Freeway southbound at Fountain View Drive. The vehicles and the investigation were finally cleared and the lanes were reopened as of 11:30 a.m. According to the Houston Police Department, the driver of a white Ford Expedition had a flat tire and stopped in a moving lane of traffic along the freeway.

A 41-year-old mother of three was found alive in her wrecked car in Indiana after being trapped for six days, authorities said. A man was operating equipment for a drainage and excavation company on Tuesday when he spotted a car off a roadway, out of view from passing traffic, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office said. He called his supervisor, Jeremy Vanderwall, who’s an assistant chief at a local volunteer fire department, and the two checked the car and found Brieonna Cassell inside, the sheriff’s office said.

Three teenagers were killed in a serious car crash in Southern New Jersey on Sunday. The accident occurred around 4:17 p.m. ET on Route 55 near Glassboro in Gloucester County. Brendan Cary, 19, of Franklinville, New Jersey, was driving a Honda northbound on Route 55 with 19-year-old Dominic Reyes of Franklinville and an unidentified 17-year-old boy riding as passengers. Cary reportedly made contact with a Honda CRV that was driving in front of him, causing the teenager to lose control of his vehicle.

INDIANAPOLIS – A crash closed part of I-465 during Tuesday morning’s commute. According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the issue affected I-465 northbound near Rockville Road and West 10th Street (mile marker 13). Traffic was being diverted to U.S. 36. Initially, all northbound lanes were closed. Just after 6 a.m., traffic was able to get through in the right lane. Around 6:30 a.m., an additional lane reopened. All lanes reopened a few minutes later.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) – Three people are dead after a major crash on the I-45 North Freeway in Montgomery County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Traffic was slow-moving heading into Houston from The Woodlands area for most of the morning. All southbound lanes of I-45 were closed at Rayford Road/Sawdust Road. VULCAN – A driver involved in a crash on the Interstate was seriously injured when he was struck while checking on the occupants of the other vehicle involved, state troopers said Monday. The first crash happened around 6am Monday on Interstate 81 Southbound near Exit 131A in Mahanoy Township. According to State Police at Frackville, Carson Gaston, 48, of Lehighton, was headed south in a 1994 Freightliner. A pickup truck — a 2000 Ford F-150 driven by Jared Longenecker, 32, of Palmyra — failed to slow down for the slower moving Freightliner and struck the rig.

A woman checking on a vehicle’s occupants who crashed after losing control was killed after another vehicle struck her according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. DPS previously described the incident as a wrong-way collision before correcting itself just before 2 p.m. Bart Graves, an agency spokesperson, said the driver of a Dodge Durango was heading west on Loop 202 at around 5:22 a.m. Sunday when they lost control and struck the median near 40th Street, causing the vehicle to spin before coming to rest facing the opposite direction.

A Raleigh police officer was injured Sunday in a crash involving three vehicles on U.S. Highway 64 at Lizard Lick Road near Zebulon. The crash was reported around 4:30 a.m., blocking all eastbound lanes of U.S. 64 at Exit 432 for Lizard Lick Road. The road reopened by 7 a.m. Investigators told WRAL News a 2011 Ford Edge was traveling eastbound on U.S. 64 when it hit the center guardrail, crashed and became stalled without headlights in the dark roadway.

The location of the crash was on westbound I-40 about 8 miles after the Kelbaker Road exit according to the California Highway Patrol. A blue semi-truck parked on the right shoulder of I-40 was struck from the rear by a red semi-truck, causing the red semi to have major passenger side damage to the cab.
