2 dead after crash on I-95 in Philadelphia closes highway
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A person was thrown from their vehicle and another car flipped multiple times in a crash that killed two people on Interstate 95 Wednesday morning, according to police. Just before 1 a.m., Pennsylvania state troopers arrived at the scene near the Allegheny Avenue exit (Exit 25) and found three damaged vehicles, according to an incident report. Investigators believe the crash happened when a vehicle stopped in the right center lane of I-95’s northbound side.

MARION, S.C. (WPDE) — South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Marion County. Marion Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene near the US Highway 76 and Laughlin Road intersection Wednesday night; they originally told us four vehicles were involved. Troopers say only two vehicles were involved. According to officials, extrication operations were necessary and critical injuries are reported. Troopers tell us an SUV was disabled in the westbound lane of US-76 when it was hit by another vehicle.

Greensburg, KS – January 1, 2023, Adrienne Deal and a child were killed due to an accident where a truck crashed into their vehicle. Details given in the news place the incident just east of Greensburg in Kiowa Rural Township along US 54 off the corner of 37th Avenue. It appears that 40-year-old Adrienne R. Deal was in a Kia Soul on eastbound lanes of the highway. Police said they believe the vehicle’s lights were off and the vehicle was “possibly disabled” when an eastbound semi-truck hit the Kia.

Police have identified the driver killed in a crash in the town of Poland on Monday. The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Gary Hesketh of Oxford died at the scene of the crash on Harris Hill Road around 7:40 a.m. Monday. Deputies said he rear-ended a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the side of the road. Hesketh was pulled from the wreckage after his vehicle caught fire, but he died at the scene.

WRIGHT COUNTY, Minn. – A driver who got out of their vehicle after it went into a ditch was hit and killed by a pickup truck Tuesday evening on a snowy central Minnesota highway. The Minnesota State Patrol says the deadly crash happened at about 7:19 p.m. on Highway 24 in Clearwater Township, which is just southeast of St. Cloud. The truck was heading southbound on the highway when it struck the victim – a 36-year-old man from Maple Lake – who was standing on the shoulder.

According to a news release on Dec. 30, OSP responded to the crash at about 11:40 p.m. Dec. 29 near milepost 186 on Interstate 84 in Umatilla County. On Thursday, December 29, 2022 at approximately 11:40 P.M., the Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash the interstate, near milepost 186, in Umatilla County.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man in his 30s is dead after his van became disabled on Interstate 295 Sunday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The man crashed his van into the concrete barrier wall, and when it would no longer work, he stepped outside of it in the left lane, according to troopers. A vehicle driving in the lane then struck the man, killing him. Interstate 295 southbound was temporarily closed for the investigation from Interstate 95 to Duval Road on the north end.

DENVER – Police in Denver are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck and injured a man fixing his car on the side of Interstate 70, police announced in a news release Monday. The incident occurred on Dec. 23 in the eastbound lanes of I-70, just east of North Quebec Street. Police said the victim was parked on the shoulder fixing his car when a passing vehicle, a white diesel pickup with a trailer, struck the victim’s parked car.

Dan Quiggle, deputy fire chief for operations for Cosumnes Community Service District Fire Department, said crews found the person inside a vehicle around 10:30 a.m. Sunday along Dillard Road, near Highway 99. Emergency workers believe the individual was the same motorist they were searching for earlier in the morning. No details on the driver were made available.
