One Killed in Crash with Jackknifed 18-Wheeler on 34th Ave West in Alexandria, MN
Alexandria, MN – January 3, 2022, a driver was killed after crashing into a jackknifed tractor-trailer along 34th Avenue West in Alexandria. Authorities say the incident happened around 7:45 p.m. on the 2600 block of 34th Avenue West. Preliminary investigation suggests the semi-truck and its trailer were jackknifed in the roadway, blocking both lanes, when the victim’s westbound vehicle crashed into them. The car’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) – Police in Birmingham are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that happened early Friday morning. WBRC reports Morgan Lightner, 25, was involved in a multi-vehicle crash just before 3 a.m. that caused her vehicle to flip over. She was able to get out of her car and began flagging oncoming traffic to slow down. Officials say she was hit by two vehicles that both left the scene as she attempted to warn other drivers of the accident.

BALTIMORE — Maryland Transportation Authority Police are investigating an overnight crash on New Year’s Day that left a 34-year-old woman dead. It happened around 2:15am, on the southbound side of I-395 near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Baltimore City. Latia Nicole Hopkins died after multiple vehicles struck her at the location. Police believe Hopkins was hit after she stopped her car in the road for some reason, and got out.

DUXBURY – A multi-car crash in Duxbury on Sunday sent one person to the hospital with serious injures and the driver allegedly responsible for the chain-reaction crash is facing charges. State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said in a press release that troopers responded to the northbound Route 3 crash at 10:21 p.m. Sunday. The driver, a 28-year-old Scituate man, crashed into a guardrail on the left side of the road, leaving his car disabled in the left travel lane.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A person was killed and two others were seriously injured after being hit by vehicle on Interstate 270 Sunday morning. The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-270 between I-76 and Vasquez Boulevard in Commerce City. Commerce City police (CCPD) said the people were outside of the their broken-down vehicle waiting on assistance when another vehicle lost control and slammed into it. The out-of-control vehicle then struck the people, police said.
