Disabled Car On Hwy 58 in Bakersfield Struck from Behind Leaving Woman Dead
A woman was tragically killed after her disabled vehicle was struck by another driver in Bakersfield early Sunday morning. The California Highway Patrol says they were called to the scene in eastern Bakersfield sometime after 2:15 a.m. on November 27, 2022. KGET-TV reported the accident happened along the westbound lanes of Highway 58, just west of the Oswell Street exit. Investigators say a 50-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man were sitting in their disabled Ford Thunderbird along the right shoulder of the road.

IRVINGTON, NJ, (November 26, 2022) - A 60-year-old man was tragically killed early Saturday morning when he was hit by a vehicle along the Garden State Parkway in Irvington. According to New Jersey State Police, Mark Terpak, of Little Falls, was operating a Chevrolet Camaro southbound along the parkway when he crashed near milepost 144 and stopped in the center lane. Subsequently, Terpak stepped out of the disabled vehicle and was struck by a Lexus NX3.

A Madison woman died after icy roads caused a multi-vehicle pileup on Interstate 95 in Waterville on Friday evening. Initial crash reports came in around 7:19 p.m., with collisions reported on both northbound and southbound lanes over the Messalonskee bridge, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety. As the bridge became congested on the northbound lane, numerous secondary crashes occurred, Moss said. At least 10 crashes occurred in that area on Friday night.

NEW SHARON — Ice and freezing rain caused multiple accidents Friday, as police responded to three separate calls around the same time of the morning. Franklin County Dispatch started receiving several calls around 9:43 a.m. about a multi-vehicle accident on the New Sharon side of Mile Hill Road, according to a report from Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. It was reported that a tractor-trailer truck had crashed into other vehicles. Deputy Austin Couture responded to the scene as well as Deputy Andrew Morgan and Nichols.

ABERDEEN, Md. (WBFF) — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in Harford County with one person dead and two others injured on Thanksgiving morning. Shortly before 2:15AM , troopers from the Maryland State Police JFK Memorial Highway Barrack responded to southbound Interstate 95 in Aberdeen, Maryland for a report of a hit-and-run crash involving pedestrians. Officials say three pedestrians were on the shoulder of the road putting gasoline into a vehicle, when a white sedan with tinted windows, veered onto the shoulder and struck the pedestrians.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident on the Dallas North Tollway. At 5:48am, Dallas Fire Rescue and DPS Troopers responded to a crash on southbound Dallas North Tollway near Mockingbird Lane. Investigators say an unoccupied SUV was disabled in the fast lane of traffic when a second SUV hydroplaned and crashed into the vehicle and median barrier. The driver of the second SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene.

ANDERSON, Calif. — A good Samaritan was killed on Thanksgiving trying the help a motorcyclist who was seriously hurt after hitting a deer. They both lost their lives when a third driver didn’t see them in the road and hit them, according to the California Highway Patrol. It happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The #1 and #2 lanes of northbound I-5 were closed near Riverside Avenue. The CHP confirmed a motorcyclist had struck a deer causing them to lose control and slide into the center median on the roadway near Balls Ferry Road.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The intersection of Antelope Valley Parkway and Vine Street is reopened following a series of crashes Tuesday evening. The first, a hit-and-run, which happened after a Ford SUV was struck by a red truck. The red truck left the scene shortly after. Lincoln Police said they were able to track down the driver a short time later about a mile away, near 20th and Holdrege Streets.

Virginia State Police says the crash happened on I-295 north near the Creighton Road exit mile marker 33 at 4 a.m. VSP says a truck hauling a utility trailer lost its load, leaving the utility trailer in the roadway. Multiple cars then came through and either struck the utility trailer or ran off the roadway to avoid the trailer.
