Driver who hit deer on I-70 in Frederick struck and killed by tractor-trailer after exiting vehicle
A man is dead Friday after he was struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 70 in Frederick, Maryland, after he got out of his vehicle because he hit a deer on the highway. Maryland State Police said Jordan Scott Maddocks, 33, of Canal Fulton, Ohio, was struck by a tractor-trailer on westbound I-70 around 3 a.m. He apparently got out of his vehicle after striking a deer before the MD Route 17 exit for Myersville.

A young man dealing with a flat tyre watched in horror as his father, who was assisting him in changing it, was struck and murdered by a passing vehicle. On Friday morning, just before 8.30 a.m., the 55-year-old father was helping his son replace a tyre on the Princes Highway in eastern Victoria, between the towns of Flynn and Rosedale. Another car was passing by while the two attempted to change the tyre when he hit the father, instantly killing him.

TAMPA — A woman was killed Friday after two semitrailers crashed on Interstate 75, causing a natural gas tank from one of the trucks to go airborne and land on the car she was riding in, the Florida Highway Patrol reported. The crash occurred just after 10 a.m. Friday near Exit 256, which is the exit to the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway. A semitrailer was being driven north on the interstate when it drifted onto the outside shoulder and crashed into the trailer of another semitrailer that had stopped on the shoulder, according to the highway patrol.

DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) — One person was killed, and another seriously injured, in a crash Wednesday night in Danville. Pittsylvania County Sheriff Mike Taylor said the incident happened on Highway 58, in the 2400 block of South Boston Road, around 9:20. Sheriff Taylor said there was one fatality and one person airlifted to the hospital. Virginia State Police Thursday afternoon said a 2004 Honda CRV became disabled on the side of Route 58.

A fiery crash involving at least three vehicles caused traffic to back up heading into Owasso early Thursday. The collision occurred around 6:30 a.m. near 76th Street North in the northbound lanes of U.S. 169, where emergency crews responded to reports of a multiple-vehicle accident, according to an Owasso police report. It states that seven people, including three children, were involved in the crash, and that six were taken to hospitals.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are trying to determine what caused a driver in a pickup truck to slam into the back of an 18-wheeler parked on the shoulder of a Northeast Side highway. The crash happened shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday along southbound Interstate 35, just south of Walzem Road. Police say the driver of the big rig had pulled over on the highway after noticing some of the tires on his trailer were flat.

DETROIT (WWJ) – Two people are hospitalized with severe head injuries after a driver rear-ended their stalled car on the Lodge Freeway in Detroit. Michigan State Police say they received a call around 1:25 a.m. Wednesday about a Honda Odyssey blocking the right lane of the Lodge northbound at Hamilton. On their way to the scene, troopers were notified that a crash occurred. The Honda, which was disabled, ended up getting rear-ended by a Jeep Wrangler.

According to a public information release from Officer Chuck McPhilamy, the Marietta Police Department‘s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.) Unit is investigating a multi-vehicle serious injury crash that occurred Tuesday night at 10:26 p.m. on I-75 Northbound at the Allgood Road overpass. The pile-up resulted in life-threatening injuries to one person, and injuries to others. Investigators report that a 2012 Chrysler 300 driven by an 18-year-old South Carolina man, a 1992 GMC Sierra driven by 59-year-old man from Buford, GA, a 2019 VW Jetta driven by a 33-year-old man from Marietta, and a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 24-year-old Conyers man, were all headed northbound in the left lane.
