2 killed in crash caused by hit-and-run crash on Gulf Freeway, HPD says
HOUSTON — Two people are dead after a crash on the Gulf Freeway that was caused by a separate crash early Saturday morning, Houston police said. This happened on the Gulf Freeway headed south near Griggs around 1 a.m. The Houston Police Department said the incident started when a woman driving a black sedan was hit from behind and spun around in the main lanes of the freeway. The other car in that crash reportedly took off.

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — Two people were struck on eastbound Interstate 70 near Ward Road after they got out of their vehicle, which had broken down. The crash happened around 3 a.m. on Saturday and resulted in the lanes being closed for several hours. In an update late Tuesday, Wheat Ridge Police said that investigators determined a vehicle had broken down in the lane of traffic that becomes the Ward Road off-ramp.

Officials said on March 25, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a Mazda CX-9 was parked on the right shoulder of the northbound off-ramp from State Route 1 to Pulaski Highway. A disabled vehicle with a broken front left wheel was parked directly in front of the Mazda on the same shoulder. At that same time, a 74-year-old man from Bear, was driving a GMC Sierra northbound on the off-ramp and approaching a curve to the left.

SCHLEY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) is investigating an accident on Highway 19 involving 12 vehicles. Deputies on the scene tell WALB that the initial crash was between two vehicles at the intersection of Highway 19 and Old Highway 19 in Schley County. GSP said troopers responded to the crash at around 7:50 a.m. The preliminary information indicates that the accident started when a green 2013 Ford Fusion struck the silver 2017 Ford Fusion in the left southbound lane of Highway 19.

Wilmington, DE (March 24, 2025) – Emergency responders were quick to the scene, providing care and managing the aftermath of a fatal collision early Monday morning on I-495 northbound near the US Route 13 exit in Wilmington. The crash, which occurred around 4:57 a.m., involved a silver 2011 Ford Fusion that was disabled in the center lane and a gray 2019 Jeep Comanche traveling in the same direction. According to Delaware State Police, the driver of the Ford Fusion, a 35-year-old man from Darby, Pennsylvania, had exited his vehicle and was standing in front of it when it was struck from behind by the oncoming Jeep.

One person has died, and five others have been transported to the hospital following a three-vehicle crash on I-35 in Fort Worth, police said. At about 2:42 a.m., officers were called to the southbound lanes at 5500 South Freeway after the reported crash. Witnesses told police that two cars were involved in the initial crash, and then a third car hit one of the disabled vehicles. Fort Worth PD said one person was pronounced dead at the scene and five others were transported to the hospital.

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WGNO) — The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead in Harrison County on Saturday, March 22. The MHP reported the crash happened on Interstate 10 around 4:20 a.m. MHP officials said an initial investigation shows a Freightliner Cascadia was heading west on I-10 when it hit a 17-year-old pedestrian. According to the MHP, the pedestrian was standing next to a disabled Jeep in the left lane at the time of the collision.

Skagit County, WA — Washington State Patrol has confirmed a fatal three-car collision that occurred late Saturday night on southbound Interstate 5, just south of Milepost 225 in Skagit County. According to WSP, the crash began when a driver allegedly lost control of their vehicle and struck the cable barrier. The vehicle came to a stop in lane two of the interstate. A second vehicle then collided with the stopped car and ended up facing the wrong direction while still blocking the lane.

Following the crash, part of the interstate was shut down for hours and reopened around 4:30 p.m. According to state police, an investigation revealed that the victim, a 53-year-old man from Hartford, Connecticut, was outside of his disabled vehicle when he was struck by a second commercial vehicle passing his location.
