Harley-Davidson rider critically injured in crash on U.S. 301 in Sumter County
A man riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was critically injured in a crash Friday morning on U.S. 301 in Sumter County. The 49-year-old Sumterville man had been riding the 2015 Harley-Davidson at 6:40 a.m. southbound on U.S. 301 approaching East Belt Avenue north of Bushnell when a 50-year-old Bushnell woman driving a 2017 Chevrolet Colorado traveling in the opposite direction made a left turn into his path, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (KABC) – A 20-year-old woman was killed and two others were injured in a two-car crash on freeway lanes in the North Hollywood area Thursday morning. The crash was reported around 2 a.m. at the transition from the southbound 101 Freeway and the eastbound 134 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. Authorities say the victim from Pasadena was behind the wheel of a silver Toyota Camry when she apparently lost control and hit a guardrail, splitting the vehicle in half.

HOLT, Ala. – Three bodies were found inside a submerged vehicle in Alabama on Thursday after floodwaters receded from killer storms that included torrential rain earlier this week, authorities said. Divers and other officers from the Tuscaloosa Police Department discovered the sport-utility vehicle in water in the Holt community, a rural area a few miles east of Tuscaloosa, police said in a statement. Investigators initially believed just one person was inside the vehicle, but two more bodies were found during a search.

Gastonia police said the crash happened on the off-ramp to Exit 17 around 4 a.m. Officers said a flatbed truck that broke down was hit by a car on the ramp. The driver of the car was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries.

Ypsilanti Township, MI – March 23, 2022, a person in a parked vehicle was killed when a semi-truck swerved into it on Interstate 94 in Ypsilanti Township. Authorities say the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. on westbound I-94 near Grove Street. Preliminary investigation suggests that a commercial semi-truck was cut off by another vehicle on the roadway, forcing the truck driver to swerve and causing them to lose control. The truck veered into another vehicle that was parked on the highway’s shoulder for unknown reasons.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - One person was killed in a multi-vehicle wreck on I-65 Thursday morning. According to Kentucky State Police, Christopher Steger, 28, of Harrison, Ohio was killed in one of the crashes. KSP officials responded to the crash around 4:30 a.m. The wreck happened on I-65 southbound at the Kentucky, Tennessee state line. According to police, Steger was driving a 2019 Ford Ecosport south on I-65. Steger entered into the right emergency lane, where he hit a semi-truck and trailer that was parked on the side of the road.

A 39-year-old Red Deer man was killed in a crash near Whitecourt on Tuesday. RCMP’s early investigation suggests the man’s pickup rear ended a semi parked on the side of Highway 43, about one kilometre east of Eagle Tower Road, around 1 p.m. He was the only person in the truck and declared dead at the scene. His name was not shared by Mounties. The semi driver was not hurt.

According to officials, multiple vehicles crashed along an icy overpass, leaving them disabled in the roadway. While there, authorities say a semi-truck going at unsafe speeds crashed into the scene, hitting at least one person who was outside of the stopped vehicles.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Clifton Junior Cottingham, 47, and Roy Melton Jr., 42, were traveling in Cottingham’s pickup truck along I-59 North when they crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer parked on the right shoulder of the road. Cottingham was the driver while Melton was his passenger.
