Woman hit, killed by vehicle on Highway 90 overnight, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A woman is dead after she was hit by a vehicle on the city’s West Side overnight, according to San Antonio police. The incident happened around 10 p.m., Saturday, when officials said the woman rear-ended another vehicle on I-35 and New Braunfels. Police said the woman left the scene and drove southbound on I-35 before getting on Highway 90. She then pulled over on the shoulder of the highway at General Hudnell after her left front tire blew out.

Traffic on Interstate 90 just east of Billings was halted Saturday in both directions just before noon by a multi-vehicle pileup. The crash involved approximately 30 vehicles on the bridge crossing the Yellowstone River near mile marker 452. No fatalities have been reported, according to a social media post from Montana Highway Patrol. “I would say this is the largest pileup, and winter-time accident, that I’ve seen in my nearly 20 years with the fire department,” said Billings Fire Department Chief Jason Lyon, who served as the incident commander.

LAKESIDE, Ore. - A 77-year-old Lakeside man died Thursday when his pickup truck crashed into the rear of a broken down truck pulling double trailers on Highway 101. Oregon State Police responded to the scene at 7:15 p.m. They found that a Seattle man driving a commercial vehicle pullng double trailers had stopped for repairs on the northbound shoulder of Hwy 101. A Chevy S-10 pickup driven by Frank Martinez of Lakeside traveled onto the shoulder and hit the rear of the trailer combination, police said.

A man was struck and killed by a car as he was running back to his disabled vehicle on the Beltway in the New Carrollton area. Maryland State Police said the crash happened around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday along the outer loop of the Beltway near Route 450. An initial investigation found that a man was “running from the right shoulder across the highway to the left shoulder where his vehicle was disabled” when he was struck by a Honda Accord.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. — A tractor-trailer driver was taken to a hospital after being struck by a vehicle along Interstate 81 in Franklin County. The incident happened around 4 a.m. Thursday in the southbound lanes near exit 14.According to the Franklin Fire Company, the tractor-trailer had been involved in a crash and the driver was walking around the scene. A passing vehicle then hit the driver. The victim was flown to a trauma center.

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers say Wednesday around 7:35 a.m., on Highway 90 near Clint Mason Road, two vehicles were driving west and one vehicle was driving east. They say a car driven by a 38-year-old woman from Holt stopped in the westbound lane and a van driven by a 43-year-old woman from Crestview rear-ended the car.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Louisiana State Police say a 13-year-old girl has died following a 16-vehicle crash on US 190 on the old Mississippi River Bridge Tuesday morning. Trooper First Class Taylor Scrantz identified the teenager as Janaria James, of Plaquemine. The crash happened shortly before 8:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Scrantz tells WAFB’s Austin Kemker the vehicle the teen was in was hit by a semi-truck. Multiple cars were also hit by several semi-trucks, Scrantz says.

A Fairfield County man is being hailed a hero after losing his leg while stopped to help a stranded driver and was hit by a vehicle. The crash took place around 9 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 4, on the Merritt Parkway in Greenwich, said the Connecticut State Police. According to police, the crash occurred when a vehicle was disabled on the shoulder of the northbound lane and a second vehicle was stopped adjacent to the vehicle offering a jump start when it was struck by another vehicle that was hit from behind while changing lanes and then braked because of the second car.

Police have identified the victim of a fatal Mass Pike collision involving a tractor-trailer truck and a man on the side of the road attempting to fix his vehicle. This is the second time in February 2021 that a person in a broken-down vehicle on the side of I-90 was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer. The most recent accident happened on Saturday, Feb. 20, around 6 a.m. Massachusetts State Troopers responded to a report of a man being hit by a vehicle.

A woman was killed in a crash Sunday on Interstate 57 on the South Side, and a good Samaritan who pulled over to help was injured in a hit-and-run, state police said. Troopers responded to a rollover crash about 3:17 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-57 near 107th Street, Illinois State Police said. A person involved in that crash was pronounced dead, state police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified her as Alfreda Blanton, of Gresham.
