Frightening multi-car crash on 5 Freeway caught on camera: ‘That is not good, Oh my God!’
LOS ANGELES - Dramatic video captured the moment multiple vehicles collided on the 5 Freeway in Los Angeles’ Silver Lake neighborhood. “That is not good, oh my god!” the witness said ahead of the crash. Authorities said the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday on the southbound lanes of the freeway at Glendale Boulevard. Four people were taken to the hospital and their conditions are unknown. The crash led to an hours-long freeway closure and all lanes have since reopened.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was found dead behind the wheel of a crashed car along the side of Interstate 40 in Hermitage Tuesday. Officers were dispatched to the entrance ramp for the westbound side of I-40 from Central Pike on Tuesday evening. A contractor with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) had reportedly been picking up trash in the area when they discovered a crashed vehicle in the woodline.

A 44-year-old Suffolk man died after he was hit while checking on his disabled car on the Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel, state police said. John Edward Williams stopped on the shoulder of the northbound lanes of Interstate 664 on the bridge in Newport News just before 11 p.m. Saturday for “mechanical issues.” A spokesperson for Virginia State Police said Williams got out of his 2004 Chevrolet Malibu and checked the engine. At the same time, David Clayton Rosas, 34, was driving northbound when he ran off the roadway and struck the back of Williams’ Malibu.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. — A driver whose car was stopped on Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County died after an SUV hit the vehicle from behind, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The crash happened just before 10 a.m. Monday in the southbound lanes near mile marker 75. Troopers said a Toyota sedan was stopped in the roadway and was hit from behind by a BMW SUV. Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said Michael Anthony Lorenz, 61, of Fuquay Varina, NC died at the scene.

MONTCALM COUNTY, Mich. — A man who was riding a moped is dead after crashing into a disabled vehicle along the road in Montcalm County. Deputies say the crash happened at 9:15 p.m. Sunday on S Greenville Road. A 60-year-old Greenville man was riding a Yongfu moped southbound when he rear-ended a Chevy Traverse that was disabled along the road. A witness told deputies that a car also traveling south had been passing the moped at the time of the crash.

CHICAGO (WLS) – A woman was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash on I-57 on the South Side Monday morning, Illinois State Police said. Police said the crash occurred at about 3:48 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-57 at 111th Street. Police said there was a disabled SUV in the right shoulder when a female passenger in that vehicle got out. The passenger was then struck by another car, which police said fled the scene.

A trucker who was hit by a passing vehicle along Interstate 78 near Lehigh County has died, police said late Friday. Jymel D. Smith, 49, of Clermont, Florida, stopped his tractor-trailer on the right shoulder of I-78 westbound shortly before 5 p.m. Friday near mile marker 41.5 in Greenwich Township, Berks County, state police at Hamburg said. He was then hit by a passing motorist who failed to stop or notify law enforcement, police said.

CALDWELL COUNTY, Texas — A cow on the highway triggered a multi-vehicle crash early Friday morning on State Highway 130 in southern Caldwell County, causing significant traffic disruptions that persisted throughout the day. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that at approximately 4:10 a.m., a tractor tractor with a refrigerant trailer struck the cow near mile marker 481, becoming disabled on the right shoulder. A second tractor trailer, a car hauler, then collided with the disabled vehicle before flipping into the median and catching fire.

NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police are investigating after a two-vehicle crash that occurred August 21 on Route 29 near Thomas Nelson Highway killed a woman from Milford. VSP says around 2:14 p.m. on Wednesday, 86-year-old Marette L. Legeer of Milford was driving south on Route 29 in a 2010 Ford Escape near Jackson Lane. Legeer stopped her vehicle to speak with VDOT employees in the median when a 2009 Honda Accord driven by a 21-year-old man from Lynchburg hit her from behind.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, (August 11, 2024) - A good Samaritan suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run accident Aug. 11 in Fort Lauderdale. According to authorities, Yevhenii Arsirii was on his way home when he saw someone pushing a truck along Northwest 6th Street. Arsirii got out to help push the vehicle, which had run out of gas, when he was struck by another vehicle. Arsirii’s right leg has been amputated as doctors work to save his left leg.
