Former Moon Valley football standout Nick Carlon critically injured when struck by vehicle
Former Moon Valley football star Nick Carlon is in an El Paso, Texas hospital, fighting for his life, after being struck by a car in Las Cruces, N.M., on Wednesday. Yvette Carlon, Nick’s mom, said that her son was on his way to see his girlfriend in Belmont, Texas, when his car broke down, she believed on a highway.She said he got out of the car when he was struck by another car.

Officers say a woman in her 40s rear-ended a semi-truck just before 3 am Saturday on Highway 99 near Mission Avenue. When she pulled over and got out on the roadside to check for damage to her car, another oncoming semi-truck sideswiped her car, which then hit and killed her.

SARDINIA, N.Y. (WKBW) — New York State Police say an 86-year-old Blasdell man was killed in a tractor trailer crash in Sardinia, Friday morning. Authorities say Nelson H. Drosendahl was driving a Jeep on State Route 16 when he was hit by a truck. Drosendahl’s Jeep was then hit by an oncoming Chevy and was pronounced dead at the scene. All other parties were taken to ECMC for non-life threatening injuries.

According to officials, an Acura sedan was traveling south on North Carolina 147 when the driver lost control and hit a guardrail on the left side of the highway. The car spun several times and came to rest in the right lane, facing the wrong way.

An Oradell man was killed after he was struck by a car on Route 80 in Lodi on Wednesday night, authorities said. Edward Shindnes, 25, was a passenger of a Jeep that was stopped in the right shoulder of the Route 80 eastbound express lanes at about 9:15 p.m., State Police Sgt. Philip Curry said. Shindes exited the Jeep and crossed into the local lanes of the highway when he was struck by a Land Rover, where he suffered fatal injuries, Curry said.

On Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, at 6:30 p.m., deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Point Lookout Road and Camp Cosoma Road for the report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. Due to the severity of the injuries sustained by the pedestrian, members of the St. Mary’s County Collision Reconstruction Unit were notified and responded to the scene. A preliminary investigation determined Joseph Earl Cullison, age 57 of Leonardtown, was getting back into his 2004 Chevrolet Silverado which he had stopped on the shoulder of the road.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a westbound Toyota RAV4 hit a deer and became disabled, sitting sideways in the roadway. A camper van then struck the small SUV on its passenger side.

Frank Tereza stopped to help a stranger push a disabled car when someone hit him near Barrington and Bode Roads on Saturday.Tereza’s family said both of his legs were crushed. Doctors have already amputated one of his legs and are trying to save the other. “He’s so positive about everything, he’s gonna make it through this and be great,” said Quinn Groenwald, Tereza’s cousin.
