A group of men was changing a flat tire on I-75 in Sarasota Thursday night when four were hit by a car and killed, FL Highway Patrol said. ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) — An Atlantic City woman is dead after authorities say she was hit while helping someone else on the side of the road. The Atlantic City Police Department says the incident happened around 9:48 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Route 30 near mile marker 55. According to investigators, 57-year-old Teresa Callaway stopped to help a woman who crashed her Jeep in the left lane. Callaway was one of multiple vehicles that stopped to help.

CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WKRG) The driver of an 18-wheeler was critically injured when he was hit by an SUV as he attempted to get out of his truck on Highway 189 near Pecan Lane. The 39-year-old driver, who has not been identified, fell onto the roadway as he was exiting his truck shortly after midnight. He was struck by a Toyota Rav4 driven by a 30-year-old woman from Gulfport. The driver of the semi-truck is from Clewiston, Fla.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (CBS12) — A 53-year-old woman from West Palm Beach was killed after she was hit by a car on the Turnpike Tuesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said. The crash happened on the southbound lanes, just south of the PGA Boulevard exit just after 11 p.m. A sports utility vehicle – driven by a 34-year-old man – was heading south on the Turnpike when he hit the woman, who was standing behind a pickup truck stopped on the outside shoulder of the road, according to FHP.

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – A man was seriously hurt after he was hit by a tractor trailer Tuesday, according to Nevada Highway Patrol. NHP Trooper Travis Smaka said the crash happened just before 11 a.m. July 13 on I-15 southbound near Mile Marker 17, which is near Seven Magic Mountains. Smaka said two vehicles were on the shoulder of I-15 when one of the occupants was outside the vehicle. That man was hit by a tractor trailer, according to Smaka.

OLO COUNTY, Calif. (KTXL) — The California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash on Interstate 80 that left one man dead. A westbound vehicle hit another vehicle from behind on I-80 near the Yolo Causeway around midnight Monday, the CHP said. Both vehicles pulled over. The CHP said it appears a man was hit by at least one semi-truck after getting out of one of the vehicles. The man died, the CHP reported.

The crash occurred on US 24, near milepost 17, in Emerald Township, Paulding County. The crash was reported on July 8, 2021, at approximately 6:27 p.m. Lawrence Lewis, 57, of Defiance, OH, was operating a 2006 International Semi-Truck eastbound on US 24 near mile post 17. Lewis was hauling an oversized load.
