Big rig hits car stopped on I-880, killing driver: CHP
A driver was killed when a big rig slammed into his stopped car in the middle lane of i-880 in Oakland early on Friday, the California Highway Patrol said. CHP officers were called at 12:49 a.m. about a Toyota Celica blocking the middle lanes of the northbound freeway at Market Street. As the officers were responding, the Toyota was hit by the truck.The driver was found with fatal injuries outside of the car by officers, according to the CHP.

MILAN, Ohio (WJW) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a semi-tractor trailer on the Turnpike. According to troopers, a 23-year-old woman was driving westbound on Thanksgiving when her vehicle struck a concrete median barrier before ending up in a ditch. The driver then got out of her car and walked into the westbound lanes of travel where she was hit by a semi.

ERIE COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — A young woman is dead after she was struck by a semi tractor-trailer on the Ohio Turnpike Thursday evening. The crash happened between State Route 4 and State Route 250 (milepost 114) in Oxford Township, Erie County around 6:30 p.m. Troopers determined that Karysha Melendez, 23, of Lorain, was driving a 2016 Honda westbound on the turnpike when her car struck the concrete median barrier. She then drove off the right side of the road and crashed her car into a ditch.

A woman was struck and died while walking across lanes of traffic on I-465 late Wednesday night. About 11:30 p.m., emergency services responded to a scene with vehicles on the shoulder and a woman lying in the road on the westbound side of the highway, near Emerson Avenue on the southeast side, according to a release from the Indiana State Police. ARBUTUS, MD. (WJZ) — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened Tuesday night in Baltimore County. Troopers responded to I-95 South at I-195 at around 9:25 p.m. They learned that a 29-year-old man from Florida, Jacob Marshall Dalton, was driving a 1997 Ford Ranger when it became disabled in the right shoulder of I-95 South.For unknown reasons at this time, Dalton stepped from the shoulder into the road and was struck by a tractor-trailer, which was not able to stop before the crash.

According to the Cincinnati Police Department, officer responded to the 2400 block of Central Parkway in Cincinnati’s CUF neighborhood at around 6:25 p.m. for a report of a crash.Police said a 31-year-old man was driving his 1999 Acura TL south on Central Parkway when his vehicle went left of center and hit a 2010 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 39-year-old man.

Two people who survived a collision between two cars along a Detroit freeway were struck and killed by a third vehicle as they stood next to their car on the freeway, state police said. Michigan State Police said both people died instantly Sunday night when a vehicle struck them and their car after they exited it and were standing by it on the Lodge Freeway. The victims’ car was blocking the freeway’s left southbound lane after colliding with another car that ended up along the freeway’s right shoulder, state police said in a statement.
