Double semi crash with injuries closes I-64 WB in Washington Park Monday evening
ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. — A crash involving two tractor trailers closed westbound Interstate 64 in Washington Park Monday evening. Officials said the crash happened near Illinois 111 at mile marker 6. According to a preliminary crash report from Illinois State Police, a tractor-trailer car hauler struck the bridge and was stopped in the lane when it was struck by a second tractor trailer, which was hauling double trailers. Washington Park Assistant Fire Chief Ronnie Harris said two men were in one tractor trailer and a woman was in the other.

The driver of a semi truck was hospitalized Monday after his vehicle collided with a disabled car along northbound Interstate 39 in Woodford County. According to the Woodford County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to I-39 at mile marker 26 near Minonk at 9:01 a.m. Monday in response to a crash involving serious injuries. Calls to the sheriff’s office indicated that the semi rear-ended the car while it was parked on the shoulder of the interstate.

CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Two people standing outside of their vehicle were injured during a crash on Highway 19E in Carter County. According to a preliminary crash report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), the crash occurred on Sunday around 9:25 p.m. A 2005 Ford Focus had been heading south on the highway when it hit a deer. The THP stated the Ford stopped in the right lane but then moved to the shoulder of the road.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – One man is dead Sunday after he was struck in a five-vehicle pileup at Highway 385 west of Riverdale Road. Police responded to the collision at 1:02 a.m. Lanes on both east and west bound sides of the highway were closed. Police say it started with a two-vehicle accident that left both vehicles disabled. Another vehicle then hit the first two. Then, two other vehicles swerved to miss the wreck and hit each other.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police say a man on a motorcycle died Saturday after colliding with a vehicle on Interstate 40 near Warford. Police say it started with a one-vehicle crash that left a disabled vehicle on the interstate near the Warford exit sometime around 4 a.m. The woman involved in the car wreck told police that she was in the middle lane and fell asleep at the wheel. She thinks she veered left and struck the wall, veered right and struck the wall on the right side, and somehow ended up back in the middle lane.

GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — An Amazon delivery driver has died after he was hit by the rear of a truck’s trailer while crossing the street in Green Township Wednesday afternoon. On Friday, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office identified the man killed as 30-year-old David Didusch. Green Township police said officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Hutchinson Road just before 4:40 p.m. for a reported pedestrian crash. An investigation determined Didusch, an Amazon delivery driver, stopped in the southbound lane of Hutchinson Road to make a delivery.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A crash left one person in critical condition and shut down westbound Interstate 30 in Fort Worth on Friday morning, officials said. The crash was reported around 3:30 a.m. on westbound I-30 at Ridgmar Drive, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. All main lanes remained closed as the morning rush hour began. Police said the driver of a disabled vehicle was standing outside of their vehicle when another driver struck them.

WOOD COUNTY, Ohio — A 58-year-old woman died Friday morning after she hit into a semi truck disabled on the side of the road while driving in southern Wood County. Kristine Krotzer, of Bloomdale, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene on state Route 18 near North Baltimore and Bushey Road, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office. The semi driver, a 37-year-old from Portage, Ohio, was not in their vehicle at the time of the crash and not injured.

UPDATED - RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - An elderly gentleman was struck and killed by an oncoming car while attempting to lend a helping hand Friday morning. The incident took place at around 5:30 in the morning on the Shelbyville Highway (231 South), 1-mile south of Christiana Middle and Christiana Elementary Schools. 86-year-old Jerry Smotherman reportedly saw that a motorist had been involved in an accident and stopped to assist those on the scene of the busy state highway.
