Heavy fog leads to Sheboygan Falls crashes involving 17 vehicles; multiple people injured
SHEBOYGAN FALLS (WLUK) – Heavy fog played a role in chain-reaction crashes on State Highway 23 between Plymouth and Sheboygan that involved more than a dozen vehicles. Around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, dispatch received numerous 911 calls reporting multiple vehicles crashing on State Highway 23 in the area of Sunset Road in the town of Sheboygan Falls. Visibility at the time in this area was less than 1/10 mile due to heavy morning fog.

Around 9:45 a.m., troopers responded to US-41 near Midway Drive. Preliminary investigation reveals a 56-year-old man was eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a westbound vehicle driven by a 36-year-old woman. The first vehicle hit a guardrail and came to rest in the turn lane of the highway.

Lansing, IL — July 28, 2025, one person was killed and another was injured in a truck accident at about 4:30 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 80/Frank Borman Expressway. Authorities said a car was stalled in a traffic lane near Torrance Lane when it was hit by another car. The impact knocked the other car into the path of semi-truck. The driver of the car that was hit by the truck died at the scene of the crash, according to authorities.

JASPER COUNTY, Ind. (WLS) – A fatal fiery crash Monday night shut down part of Interstate 65 in northwest Indiana, state police said Tuesday. State troopers responded about 10 p.m. Monday to a multi-vehicle crash on southbound I-65 at mile marker 218, 2 miles south of the Fair Oaks exit and 3 miles north of Rensselaer in Jasper County, police said. There was construction taking place in the area. A bobtail tractor was stopped in traffic in the right lane, when a semi approached from behind at a high rate of speed, police said.

FAIRFAX, Va. — A driver is dead after a crash caused their pickup to burst into flames on Interstate 66 in Fairfax County Saturday evening. Virginia State Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash and charges are pending. Robin Lawson, a spokesperson for VSP, said troopers first responded to a crash with injuries around 6 p.m. on I-66 West at Fairfax County Parkway. When troopers got on scene, they found a 1996 Nissan pickup engulfed in flames.
