Driver Killed Checking On Disabled Vehicle In Greenwich Hit-Run Crash; Police Look For Ford Van
Cristhian Eduardo Carvajal Saldana, 31, of White Plains, New York, was checking on his vehicle about a half-mile from Exit 3 around 4:30 a.m. when he was hit, according to Connecticut State Police. Troopers were already en route to assist with the stalled car when they received word that the driver had been struck. Emergency crews responded quickly, but Saldana was pronounced dead at the scene. At the crash site, police recovered a broken driver-side mirror housing, a detached bumper, and a driver-side wheel trim, all believed to belong to the vehicle that hit him.

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) – Several people were hospitalized following a car crash in Tulare County on Friday night. The California Highway Patrol responded to Avenue 296, west of Road 152, just outside of Visalia, at 11 p.m. Officials say a pick-up truck was stopped on the road when a sedan hit the car. A man outside of the truck was hit and was taken to the hospital. CHP says two people were inside the truck but were not injured.

An Urbana man was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday afternoon in northern Clark County while he was outside of his car dealing with a tire problem. BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 that killed two people in Botetourt County on May 15. According to VSP, a disabled 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer was on the right side of I-81 near mile marker 166 around 6:02 p.m. when it was suddenly hit from behind by a 2014 Mercedes-Benz. Two passengers in the Mercedes, 22-year-old Sameer Baig Mirza and 15-year-old Mustafa Baig Mirza, both from Springfield, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 48-year-old Millsboro man was killed early May 16 when he crashed into a parked flatbed trailer near Angola, Delaware State Police said. The identity of the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, is being withheld by police until his family is notified. The man was in a Nissan Sentra a little before 6 a.m., heading southbound on Hollymount Road north of John J. Williams Highway (Route 24), investigators said.

The crash blocked the interstate near the Panola Road overpass in DeKalb County. What we know: Officials say the crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. when the tractor-trailer hit a car that had stopped partially on the right shoulder and partially in the right lane. Del Toro’s son said he owned LET Tire Shop on East Benson Highway. “Doing service calls, this is all he’s done all his life,” said del Toro’s son, who is also named Luis.

NAUGATUCK, Conn. — Connecticut State Police said a pickup truck collided with two pedestrians on Route 8 South in Naugatuck Thursday, resulting in one person dead and another person injured. State police said the crash happened near Exit 26 around 1:55 p.m. A Mercedes-Benz was stopped in the right shoulder of the road, south of the Exit 26 off-ramp, following a unrelated collision that had previously occurred. A Ford F450 was traveling in the left lane on Route 8, approaching the scene of the crash, when the driver lost of control and “entered into a rotation,” state police said.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) responded to a multi-vehicle crash near Perry on Monday. The crash occurred early on May 12 on I-35 in Noble County just north of Perry. Troopers say that a car carrying four people struck a deer and became disabled on I-35. All four people got out of the car before “a semi, trying to avoid the car, was rear ended by a car hauler, causing the semi to tip onto the car.

A BMW sedan was southbound just south of the Inwood exit when the vehicle hydroplaned, hit a guardrail, crossed into the northbound lanes and struck the side of a tractor-trailer, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.
