WyoTech student killed by truck while providing roadside assistance to disabled vehicle
CENTENNIAL, Wyo. — An 18-year-old student from Montana attending WyoTech in Laramie was killed near Centennial the evening of March 23 while attempting to help a truck that had broken down along the side of the road. While outside trying to give assistance, a truck of the very same model mistakenly struck the man and crushed him between the cars. According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Riggin Schaffer — who was in Laramie to attend WyoTech to learn automobile collision repair, painting and upholstery, according to his obituary — was driving along Wyoming Highway 130 at 10:36 p.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) – The Raleigh Police Department (RPD) is investigating a deadly hit-and-run after a man pulled over on I-40 west to fix his flat tire. According to police, the hit-and-run happened between 5:55 and 6:05 a.m. Monday. Police say their preliminary investigation reveals that 48-year-old Jose Abel Vasquez was working on his car on the right-hand shoulder of I-40 west between Rock Quarry Road and Hammond Road when he was hit.

OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Oconee County Coroner’s Office has identified a pedestrian killed on Sunday after being hit by a tractor-trailer on I-85. The coroner identified the victim as 44-year-old Carlos Gutierrez-Guzman. The coroner reports Guzman was driving south on I-85 when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a guardrail. The vehicle then stopped in the southbound lane of traffic before he exited onto the interstate.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — In the early hours of March 30, 2025, a tragic hit-and-run incident on Interstate 71 resulted in the death of an adult pedestrian. Police say the accident occurred at approximately 3:20 a.m. when the individual’s vehicle spun out and collided with the median wall, leaving the car disabled. After the crash, the adult was walking in the northbound far left lane of I-71 when they were struck by an unknown vehicle.

CHICAGO (WLS) – A pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash on Saturday has been identified. The first crash happened at about 4:15 a.m. on the outbound Bishop Ford Freeway, or Interstate 94, just south of 115th Street, Chicago police said. One of the people involved in the crash got out of his vehicle and was hit and killed by another vehicle, police said. That vehicle did not stop, police said.

Officials said on March 25, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a Mazda CX-9 was parked on the right shoulder of the northbound off-ramp from State Route 1 to Pulaski Highway. A disabled vehicle with a broken front left wheel was parked directly in front of the Mazda on the same shoulder. At that same time, a 74-year-old man from Bear, was driving a GMC Sierra northbound on the off-ramp and approaching a curve to the left.

SCHLEY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Georgia State Patrol (GSP) is investigating an accident on Highway 19 involving 12 vehicles. Deputies on the scene tell WALB that the initial crash was between two vehicles at the intersection of Highway 19 and Old Highway 19 in Schley County. GSP said troopers responded to the crash at around 7:50 a.m. The preliminary information indicates that the accident started when a green 2013 Ford Fusion struck the silver 2017 Ford Fusion in the left southbound lane of Highway 19.
