Man dies after crashing into stopped car near Eureka
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A man died Saturday night after crashing into a stopped car. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, shortly after 9 p.m., a 2022 Dodge Ram 2500 was stopped at the gore point of North Outer Road and Interstate 44 heading west. The driver of the Dodge was repairing the car and an attached tow unit. While doing so, a 2018 Chevrolet Impala heading west hit the towed unit of the Dodge.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A deadly crash shut down all inbound lanes on the North Freeway at 610 North Loop on Sunday morning, officials said. According to investigators, the crash happened at about 4 a.m., and lanes were closed until reopening at 8 a.m. Sgt. Erendira Alejandro told ABC13 a 51-year-old man in a Cadillac was parked on the right shoulder, facing the wrong way, when he got out of his car and ran toward the HOV lane.

A Wharton man died after he crashed into a tractor trailer parked on the shoulder of Route 287 in Morristown early on Sunday, March 22. Attem Petiukh, 37, was driving a Honda SUV on 287 North in Morristown shortly after 4 a.m. While negotiating a left curve in the road, Petiukh crashed into the back of a tractor trailer parked on the right shoulder, according to a preliminary investigation by the New Jersey State Police, who responded to the accident.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – One person is dead, and two people were critically hurt after a rollover crash shut down a portion of I-10 in Chambers County on Thursday morning, according to officials. DPS has identified the victim as a 75-year-old man from Louisiana. At least seven others had what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries. In total, 10 vehicles were involved. DPS said the crash occurred around 8 a.m. on Thursday, when multiple vehicles slowed or stopped due to an existing crash.

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – A 65-year-old Ventura man was hit by another driver while trying to change his tire on the shoulder of northbound Highway 101 Thursday morning. On March 19, around 6:07 a.m., dispatchers began receiving calls about a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on northbound Highway 101, just north of Seacliff stated a press release from the California Highway Patrol-Ventura Area (CHP). According to the CHP, it was determined that a 65-year-old Ventura man had pulled over to the right shoulder towards the end of the Seacliff on-ramp, before exiting his vehicle and starting to change his tire.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida deputy made a narrow escape on Tuesday when a passing open car hauler hit the side of his patrol car during a traffic stop, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office. Body camera footage shows the deputy conducting a traffic stop on I-4. He began walking to his patrol car when a truck hit the driver’s side of the car. A deputy talked to the driver of the truck, who struggled to understand him due to a language barrier.

RICHLAND, N.Y. — The New York State Police is investigating a crash involving around 40 vehicles in the Town of Richland, Oswego County, N.Y., on Tuesday afternoon. The state police said the crash occurred on I-81 southbound between Exit 126 toward Pulaski, N.Y. and Exit 131 toward Tinker Tavern. Multiple tractor-trailers are involved. The police said drivers should expect “significant delays.” I-81 southbound between the Pulaski exit is closed so that emergency vehicles can respond to the scene.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A grandfather died and his grandson was seriously injured after both were pinned under an ambulance on Sunday, according to authorities and the victims’ family. At around 10 p.m. on Atlanta Highway in Oconee County, John Carter Martin stopped on the side of the road to help his grandson, 17-year-old Connor Lee Schoon, whose car had broken down. But a Northeast Georgia Medical Center ambulance hit the stranded car, trapping both of them under the rescue vehicle, state troopers said.

WHITESIDE COUNTY, Ill. — An Illinois State Police trooper was injured after their car was struck by another vehicle. According to an ISP press release, a member of ISP Troop 1 was hit on I-88 westbound near milepost 23.5 in Whiteside County on Monday, March 16. The trooper said they pulled over with their emergency lights on to assist a driver who had slid off the roadway. While stopped, officials said a sedan lost control and hit the trooper’s car in the rear while they were still inside.

A tragic sequence of events led to the death of a 73-year-old Webster man on the section of State Road 48 known as West Belt Street, in Bushnell. The Webster man was driving a Silverado and had tethered a Toyota RAV4 to the back of his truck with a tow-strap. The RAV4, which had a driver and passenger inside, separated and rolled into traffic while the Silverado was heading eastbound on the Sumter County road.
