Indianapolis man dead after being hit by a car on I-69 near Anderson
ANDERSON, Ind. — An Indianapolis man was pronounced dead after he was hit by a car after a Sunday morning crash on I-69. According to a news release from the Anderson Police Department, officers responded to a crash near the 22-mile marker of I-69 in reference to a serious vehicle crash around 5:30 a.m. Sunday. When officers arrived on the scene, they determined that three vehicles were involved. Officials stated that a GMC pickup, driven by 23-year-old Justin Tracy, reportedly rear-ended a Toyota Sedan and both cars stopped in the roadway.

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — One person has died following a rear-end crash on Interstate 81 Friday night, the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) reports. A report from the THP said the crash took place at around 9:06 p.m. on I-81 South near mile marker 64 in Blountville. The report said vehicles were stopped in the southbound right lane due to a previous crash, and a tractor-trailer was part of that traffic. A pickup truck was traveling in the right lane when it “failed to slow and stop for the traffic ahead,” the report states.

Jacksonville, Fla. — A 23-year-old man was killed Sunday morning in a crash on Chaffee Road. It happened around 5 a.m. north of the intersection of Falkland Road, near the public library. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was outside of his SUV because he had been involved in an accident. His SUV was blocking the lane. That’s when state troopers say a 61-year-old woman driving a sedan hit the SUV and the man who had been driving it.

The Kansas Highway Patrol Crash Log says around 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10th a 2010 BMW driven by Fredrick E. Coffelt, 63, of Topeka was disabled in the third lane of I-70 Eastbound, 0.2 miles West of SW Wanamaker Road. That’s when a 2014 Chevrolet driven by Dustin L. Jamerson, 42, also of Topeka was merging onto I-70 EB from I-470 Westbound, when Jamerson’s vehicle rear-ended Coffelt’s.

The Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office identified the man killed in a collision involving two big rigs. Ricardo Alonso, a 26-year-old from Santa Maria, died early Tuesday morning in the Los Banos area off Interstate 5, according to Deputy Michael Domingue. Shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday, Los Banos area California Highway Patrol officers responded the area of northbound Interstate 5, south of Henry Miller Avenue, after receiving reports of a crash involving two vehicles in the area.

A woman was killed in a crash on Interstate 26 that left another person hospitalized, South Carolina officials said. The two-vehicle collision happened March 2 in Berkeley County, according to Master Trooper Brandon Bolt of the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Crystal M. Mitchum, a 41-year-old Summerville resident, died in the accident, Berkeley County Coroner Darnell Hartwell said Tuesday. Mitchum was a passenger in a 2000 Ford sedan that was parked in the emergency lane of the westbound side of I-26 at the 203 mile marker, according to Bolt.

BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 5, 2024) — Two people were injured after a driver hit a disabled car on Highway 58 near Bussell Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car crash happened around 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Under unclear circumstances, a 66-year-old Bakersfield man crashed his 2001 Toyota RAV4, which became disabled in the westbound lane. Subsequently, the driver exited the car to inspect the damage when a westbound 2019 Subaru struck the rear of the Toyota at about 60 mph.

A man was killed in a wreck on I-85 early Saturday morning, the Belmont Police Department said. Josiah Wheeler, 25, was driving in the far left lane of I-85 South at about 1:45 a.m. when he suddenly saw a disabled vehicle in his lane that did not have its lights on, according to a police press release. Wheeler was unable to avoid the vehicle and struck it in the rear. The driver, 65-year-old Jackson Munsey, was thrown from the vehicle.

The crash occurred at 7:55 p.m. when Mark Daniel Mooney, 50, a Winston-Salem police patrol car, crashed into a car driven by Rah’shia Pauline Jones, 23. Jones had been involved in a rear-end crash with another vehicle, leaving her car disabled in the roadway.
