Woman hit, killed on Interstate 95 in Delray Beach after car runs out of gas
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — A Broward County woman is dead after she was hit on Interstate 95 in Delray Beach on Friday morning after her car had run out of gas, authorities said. The wreck happened just after 6:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes, just north of Atlantic Avenue, and caused miles of backups during the morning commute. The Florida Highway Patrol said a Buick SUV, driven by a 54-year-old Pompano Beach woman, ran out of gas and was stopped on the northbound entrance ramp to I-95.

KANKAKEE — Illinois State Police troopers are investigating a crash that involved a commercial vehicle in the northbound lanes of Interstate 57 at mile marker 311 in Kankakee County Thursday morning. The crash occurred at 4:02 a.m., according to ISP District 21 at Ashkum. Preliminary reports indicate a disabled semitrailer broke down partially in the roadway, ISP District 21 said. A second semitrailer struck the disabled vehicle in the rear, according to ISP District 21.

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – A Detroit Lakes father and son were seriously injured after being rear-ended while attending to a boat they were trailering. The crash was reported around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday when Randy Hunter of Detroit Lakes, was traveling with his son, Caleb Hunter on County Road 6. Their truck pulled off the road to attend to their boat and trailer attachment. As they were attending to the trailer, a truck driven by a 16 year-old from Audubon rear-ended the vehicle.

Caneyville, KY — September 5, 2022, 49-year-old Barry Embry died in a multi-vehicle accident along the Western Kentucky Parkway near Caneyville. Authorities say the incident happened around 12:10 p.m. on the Parkway. Preliminary investigation suggests 59-year-old Jeffery Hammonds was driving a Ford F-350 pickup west on the highway when a vehicle in front of him abruptly changed lanes, revealing to Hammonds that Embry’s Nissan pickup truck had stopped just ahead due to a disabled dump truck in the road.

LAUREL, Md. — A North Carolina man is dead following a Wednesday morning crash between two tractor-trailers on I-95 in Laurel. It happened around 4:40am, just south of Gorman Road. Maryland State Police said Jonathan David Leiner, 63, rear-ended another tractor-trailer that had been parked on the northbound side right shoulder. Leiner died on scene. The other driver was not injured. The collision forced police to shut down parts of the interstate for nearly seven-hours.

On Tuesday evening, a 45-year-old Frenchman died in the Quatre Bras de Tervuren tunnel on the Brussels Ring Road after being hit by another vehicle while pulling his broken-down car to a nearby hard shoulder. The catastrophe occurred at around 22:10 when the vehicle carrying the 45-year-old, his wife, and four children broke down towards the end of the tunnel. Due to the lack of a hard shoulder in that part of the tunnel, the driver attempted to push his vehicle a bit further down the road to clear the way.

On Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at approximately 7:40 am, Troopers responded to a minor two-vehicle crash at Exit 6B southbound on Interstate 295 in Portland. That crash given it’s location caused traffic to back up into Falmouth. At 8:20 am, due to that initial crash Troopers responded to a secondary crash in the southbound #1 lane on Tukey’s Bridge on Interstate 295 in Portland. During the heavy commuter traffic a 2016 Toyota Rav 4 driven by 20-year-old Jessica Bryant of Brunswick struck the rear of a GMC pick-up truck which pushed the driver into the breakdown median.

No students were injured Tuesday when a Waverly school district bus rear-ended a pickup truck that had stopped suddenly on a roadway near Eagle. The collision occurred about 3:35 p.m. on 250th Street just south of U.S. Highway 34, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. A 53-year-old man from Waverly, who was driving the pickup, was ticketed on suspicion of impeding traffic. Investigators determined that a 2021 Ford F-550 pickup was southbound on 250th Street when the driver stopped in the roadway to replace a chain that had been dragging behind his truck.

CROSBY COUNTY, Texas (KCBD) - One person is dead and several others were injured after a crash Monday afternoon on U.S. Highway 62/82, just east of Lorenzo. According to DPS, an SUV was legally parked on the shoulder of the east side of the highway. That’s when investigators say another car, driven by 38-year-old Enrique Martinez, of Floydada, partially crossed over into the shoulder and struck the rear of the SUV.

A person riding in a car got out of the vehicle after it crashed, then was fatally struck by another car Sunday night on the Downtown Connector, authorities said. The Atlanta Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit responded about 11:11 p.m. and found the passenger dead in a travel lane near the Brookwood split. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian stayed at the scene to speak with investigators, a police spokesperson said.
