76-Year-Old Woman Killed in Crash Involving Amazon Prime Truck on I-15
A 76-year-old woman was killed overnight after the SUV she was traveling in crashed into a big rig that jackknifed on a rainslicked Interstate 15 near Normal Heights. An Amazon semi-trailer slid sideways to a halt around 2:20 a.m. Friday while traveling on I-15 north amid slippery conditions from an overnight storm. Shortly after, an SUV crashed into the semi-truck, wedging itself stuck under the large vehicle. Paramedics took the motorist to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, CHP public affairs Officer Salvador Castro said.

At least three people have died and others including a child have been airlifted to hospital after a huge 25-car pile-up including semi-trucks sparked a huge explosion on the I-95 in Volusia County in Florida. State troopers said that there were five crashes involving 25 vehicles on both sides of the highway near the State Road 442 exit in Edgewater. Footage shows a massive fireball rocketing into the sky after a truck caught fire and exploded, according to WFTV.

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) – Authorities have released more information about a two-vehicle crash that left four people dead, including two children. Three other people suffered major injuries. The deadly crash happened Wednesday morning along Interstate 5 north of Highway 33 in Fresno County. Investigators say the driver of a Chrysler Aspen SUV was southbound on the interstate. He drifted into the west shoulder for an unknown reason, and the car slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler truck.

A Benbrook woman and her 3-year-old son were killed late Monday when they were hit by a car as they tried to move away from their disabled vehicle, which was in the middle of a Mesquite roadway, Mesquite police said. It was the fifth fatality crash so far this year in Mesquite, leaving seven people dead in 2022 compared with two fatality crashes for the same period in 2021 with two deaths.

Preliminary investigation suggests Cato’s Toyota Camry was stopped in the left lane of the highway after being disabled in a previous crash with a tractor-trailer. The truck driver parked his big rig partially on the right shoulder of the road and approached the car’s driver side to check on Cato.

WELLS, Nev. (KOLO) -A truck driver died Feb. 8 in a crash on Interstate 80 about 2 miles east of Wells in northeast Nevada, the Nevada State Police said. Edwin Jones, 41, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was driving a 2021 Kenworth tractor-trailer west on I-80 when it crashed into the trailer of another tractor-trailer that was on the right shoulder, NSP said. The trailer from the disabled vehicle was partly on the highway.

CAHOKIA HEIGHTS (KMOV) – Two people were taken to the hospital after they were injured in a series of crashes on Northbound I-255 in Cahokia Heights. Police said two vehicles were parked on the side of the highway when another vehicle hit one that was parked off the highway, causing one of the cars to run into a pedestrian. A car on the side of the roadway was then pushed into oncoming traffic and struck in a separate crash.

Preliminary investigation suggests that a commercial 18-wheeler lost control and overturned on the roadway, blocking both westbound lanes. Shortly afterward an SUV crashed into the overturned truck. Three people were injured in the crash; two were airlifted to area hospitals and one was transported by ambulance.
