Driver hospitalized after striking disabled vehicle on I-495
BRANDYWINE HUNDRED, Delaware (WPVI) – Delaware State Police are investigating an accident that injured one person on I-495 this morning in the Brandywine Hundred section of Delaware. The accident was reported at around 8:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway near Edgemoor Road.Initial reports indicate the driver lost control and struck a disabled vehicle on the shoulder of the highway. The driver was transported to an area hospital and is expected to be okay.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – One person was killed Saturday in a major crash involving a disabled vehicle, and authorities are looking for the other car involved. It happened on the I-10 East Freeway near Federal Road.A truck towing a small trailer was disabled on the side of the freeway when another vehicle veered out of its lane and crashed into it, killing one person, according to authorities on the scene.

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – A fundraiser will be held next week for a Good Samaritan who lost his leg after he was struck by a vehicle last year while trying to help a driver whose vehicle had become disabled in Oakland Park. The hit-and-run crash occurred last June in the eastbound lanes of East Cypress Creek Road at North Dixie Highway. Deputies said the victim, Jonathan James Patterson, was helping the driver whose car broke down when he was struck by a vehicle similar to a 2013-2016 Lexus GS 350.

HOUSTON – A good Samaritan is recovering after being injured during a hit-and-run crash on I-45. Louis Morales told KPRC 2 that he was helping an older couple who had just got into a crash when a driver hit him and drove away. “The guy was severely hurt on his left side, so I was standing at his door trying to keep him awake and I called the cops,” Morales said.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 30-year-old Grant man died in a three-vehicle crash on State Road 60 early Thursday, Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Yanko Reyes said. State troopers were called just before 6:15 a.m. to 154th Avenue or Lloyd Road, roughly midway between Florida’s Turnpike and Interstate 95, according to a report of the crash. The Brevard County man who was driving a white 2010 Ford Fusion was pronounced dead at the crash site off State Road 60 in a stretch of rural highway passing largely through citrus groves.

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Two Good Samaritans who stopped to help a woman who crashed her car on Interstate 275 were seriously hurt after another car slammed into the woman’s vehicle, troopers said. The incident occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Monday at Interstate 275 near mile marker 31. Troopers said a woman was involved in a crash and two women, ages 22 and 20, stopped to help her. As those women were standing beside her car, a passing car hit the vehicle, which went into the median, rotated and hit the two pedestrians.

MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Mason County Sheriff Corey Miller tells WSAZ he has spoken to the victim of a tractor trailer crash on Route 35, which sent a tractor trailer driver to the hospital. Sheriff Miller says the victim is a man from California, and “he’s doing great.” He adds the man should be released from the hospital this week, as early as Wednesday. The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is now working to locate where the man’s truck was towed off to, and to find whoever caused the crash.

Police have identified the man hit and killed on Interstate 15 near Idaho Falls while trying to help a driver who slid off the road Tuesday morning. Idaho State Police say in a news release that the crash happened shortly before 8 a.m. near milepost 117 when 85-year-old Glen Howard, of Idaho Falls, parked on the right shoulder. Howard then tried to cross both southbound lanes to help the other vehicle.

Police say at about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to Industry Road in New Sharon for a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash. As a result of the investigation, police determined that a vehicle had hit a deer and the driver stopped to inspect his car. As the driver was getting back into his vehicle, police say a dark-colored GM SUV or pickup truck, traveling the opposite direction, hit the man before he could get back into his vehicle.
