1 dead in fiery semi truck crash on I-95: FHP
A semi-truck driver was killed early Thursday morning on Interstate 95 after he crashed into the back of a disabled semi that had hit a deer, causing his truck to catch fire, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The southbound lanes were closed for several hours overnight into Thursday morning, and reopened around 12 p.m. What we know: The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. on southbound I-95 at mile marker 276 in Ormond Beach.

GILLIAM COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - One person was killed and three others were hurt in a crash on Interstate 84 in Gilliam County, according to Oregon State Police. The crash happened Tuesday, Aug. 11, at about 2:43 p.m. near milepost 123. OSP said 77-year-old James Thomas Raugust, who was driving a red Land Rover hauling an Airstream trailer, pulled over onto the right shoulder with a flat tire and an Oregon Department of Transportation worker, Roger Vincent Birkeland of Arlington, had stopped to help.

Arlington, Ore., Aug. 12, 2026 — A motorist was killed and an Oregon Department of Transportation employee was critically injured Tuesday afternoon when a vehicle struck an ODOT maintenance vehicle and then hit both people along Interstate 84 west of Arlington, according to the Gilliam County Sheriff’s Office. Frontier Regional 911 received multiple reports of a serious crash involving several vehicles and pedestrians at about 2:39 p.m. Aug. 11 near milepost 123, approximately 14 miles west of Arlington.

Both people inside the passenger vehicle suffered serious injuries. The driver, who is from Abilene, had to be extricated from the vehicle by fire personnel before being flown by helicopter to Hendrick Medical Center.

According to the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office, officers received a report around 10:56 p.m. of a two-vehicle collision and a person in the southbound lanes of State Route 14, south of Ward Road. CHP officers and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded and found a white Ford pickup truck and a red Tesla sedan blocking lanes.

ISP said a Toyota Prius and a Honda CRV were parked in the Eastbound shoulder of Highway 20 at mile marker 286 around 2:00 am Saturday when a Chevy Equinox hit both cars and the driver of the CRV. A 24-year-old from Dubuque died in the incident.

Officers responded around 9:15 p.m. to Eastbound U.S. 35 near Liscum Drive for a pedestrian crash, according to a Dayton Police Department (DPD) spokesperson. An initial investigation showed that two people were on the side of EB U.S. 35 trying to repair a disabled vehicle when a vehicle hit them and ran from the scene.
