5th person dies in 36-vehicle ‘brown out’ pileup on I-25 near Pueblo
Another man injured in the massive Tuesday pileup on Interstate 25 in southern Colorado died overnight, bringing the number of people killed to five, according to the Colorado State Patrol. Another 28 people were injured in the 36-vehicle crash, which involved seven semitrailers and 29 passenger vehicles, according to the agency. Heavy winds that blew dirt and dust across the highway dropped visibility to “next to nothing,” state patrol Maj. Brian Lyons said.

A driver on Highway 50 near Lake Tahoe lost control and struck three Bay Area men who were fixing a tire chain, the California Highway Patrol said on Tuesday. The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. Monday on a Highway 50 turnout, east of Johnson Pass. According to the CHP, two men had approached a Kia driver who was stopped on the side of the road and offered to help him with his tire chain.

WARSAW, Ind. (WSBT) — A Rochester man is dead after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. 30 on Monday night. According to police, 69-year-old Randy Williams was hit by a truck after getting out of his car on the shoulder of the road. An investigation indicated that Williams was outside of his vehicle to retrieve fallen cargo from the bed of his pickup truck. Williams was struck by a tractor-trailer.

An Illinois State Police (ISP) squad car was damaged on I-80 when it was struck by another vehicle during a motorist assist. On February 15, 2026, at approximately 11:07 p.m., an ISP Trooper was relocating a disabled vehicle partially in the lane to the shoulder of I-80 westbound at milepost 138 near New Lenox with their emergency lights activated. A Mercedes-Benz SUV failed to slow down and struck the front right side of the squad car.

SALISBURY, Mass. — A Massachusetts man is facing charges after a state police trooper was injured when their cruiser was struck on the North Shore Saturday afternoon. According to a state police spokesperson, the collision occurred around 2:15 p.m. when the trooper had stopped to remove a ladder from the left travel lane of I-95 south in Salisbury just prior to I-495. Moments after removing the ladder and returning to his cruiser and buckling his seatbelt, a vehicle struck the back of the cruiser suddenly and without warning.

NATCHITOCHES PARISH – One trucker is dead after being hit by another trucker while changing a flat on his rig. The crash occurred on Thursday afternoon at approximately 1:39 p.m. That is when Louisiana State Police (LSP) responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 49 near Mile Post 140. The crash claimed the life of 25-year-old Dejuan D. Dickerson of Highland Park, Mich. Police say the initial investigation revealed that a 2025 Freightliner was stopped on the southbound shoulder of I-49.

Two people were hurt Thursday night on Highway 28 near Quincy when a driver went off the road and hit a car on the shoulder of the highway. A man and woman who were standing next to the car were pinned between the vehicle and another car that was parked next to it. The crash was reported at 7:15 p.m. Feb. 12 on Highway 28 at Adams Road North, three miles east of Quincy.

A 63-year-old man standing on the shoulder of Route 15 in Sparta was struck and killed by a passing commercial vehicle after his car broke down Tuesday night, authorities said. The driver was on the northbound shoulder near milepost 9 when he was hit at about 8:30 p.m., Sparta police said. The man was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
