Crash, fire on I-95 sends driver to hospital in Stafford County
STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — One person is in the hospital after a crash on Interstate 95 in Stafford County. Virginia State Police troopers are investigating what led up to the collision. Troopers were called to southbound I-95 at mile marker 138 around 6 a.m. for a report of a two-vehicle crash. When troopers arrived, they found an SUV and a tractor trailer had collided. Investigators learned that the SUV was stopped on the right shoulder of I-95 when it was struck by a tractor trailer heading southbound.

OCEANSIDE — A big rig crashed and overturned on Interstate 5 in the far northern reaches of the San Diego area on Wednesday, leaving the truck driver seriously injured and tangling commuter traffic for miles through the morning rush hour and into midday. The southbound tractor-trailer veered out of control, hit a guardrail and toppled over near the Aliso Creek Rest Area at about 4:30 a.m., spilling debris — including dozens of what appeared to be FedEx boxes — across the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A deadly multiple vehicle crash on I-95 North in Riviera Beach closed all lanes overnight into Wednesday morning. The crash happened at Exit 76, Blue Heron Boulevard, just before 12:30 a.m. In an 8:10 a.m. update from Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 16-year-old girl from Riviera Beach was killed. According to FHP’s crash report, the teen was driving a Nissan Altima northbound on I-95 when she reportedly lost control of her car, hitting a guardrail and concrete wall before the car came to a stop on the interstate the roadway.

WILDWOOD, Fla. - A massive pileup involving several tractor-trailers left one man dead and another seriously injured on I-75 in Sumter County late Monday night. A Hutchinson woman died Monday after the vehicle she was riding in crashed into a parked semi in Reno County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 19-year-old Baylee Marie Flynn was a passenger in a 2019 Dodge Durango that struck the 1999 Freightliner semi around 4:20 p.m. on K-96 Highway, about three miles south of South Hutchinson. Another 19-year-old was driving the Durango northwest on K-96 approaching Trail West Road when it “veered onto the right shoulder” and hit the truck, a highway patrol crash report says.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI)— A school bus with students was hit from behind in a crash along Highway 26 near 45th East, east of Idaho Falls. Idaho State Police say the crash happened at approximately 6:48 a.m. while the school bus was stopped to pick up children. A 2017 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by a Ririe woman, was heading west when she didn’t stop for the school bus, which had its lights activated.

DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A woman died in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP). The incident occured at around 2:00 p.m. on East Bobo Newsom Highway near Narrow Bridge Road Troopers said two vehicles were involved: a 1996 Ford RV and a 2016 Ford Explorer. The RV was reportedly disabled in the roadway on East Bobo Newsom Highway, headed west. The Explorer was also travelling west when it struck the RV from behind.

The crash happened about 2:18 a.m. Sunday on southbound I-75 near mile marker 26, according to FHP. FHP said a 2001 Vanhool commuter bus was disabled and stopped in the outside lane of the interstate.
