Montgomery County deputy Erika Serrato killed on North Freeway
HOUSTON - A 24-year-old Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy was killed in a crash early Sunday morning while she was on the scene of a separate crash on the North Freeway, authorities said. What they’re saying: Deputy Erika Serrato, a six-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, died from her injuries at a hospital following the 2:39 a.m. crash near the Woodlands Parkway exit. Serrato was assigned to District 2 of the sheriff’s office.

One person died in a crash after a vehicle struck a car and and an Illinois Department of Transportation SUV that were stopped along Interstate 57 near Blue Island, authorities said. The collision was reported at around 4:46 a.m. Saturday in the northbound lanes of the interstate near 127th Street. Police said a passenger vehicle and IDOT SUV were involved in a crash and pulled over onto the left shoulder. While there, the vehicles were struck by a third vehicle.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Multiple people were injured after a bus vs. vehicle crash on Saturday morning. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office’s Sgt. Jack E. Shaw Jr., the crash happened at approximately 5:40 a.m. on west U.S. 35 at State Route 49. Officials said a Greyhound bus was heading west on U.S. 35 and crashed into the back of a gray Chrysler Pacifica in the intersection with S.R. 49.

The body of a missing 55-year-old woman was found this week in a vehicle that was flipped over and partially submerged in a creek in southwestern Washington, officials said. Five days earlier, she had failed to return home after visiting an acquaintance. On Wednesday, June 24, a deputy was flagged down on Delameter Road in Castle Rock, Wash., the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. The deputy saw an overturned black car with its top in the Arkansas Creek and confirmed that a deceased person was inside.

LANSING, Ill. (WLS) – A 23-year-old man from Hammond was killed Wednesday morning after his car became disabled along Interstate 80. His family spoke exclusively with ABC7 as they are searching for answers and urging drivers to slow down and move over for those on the roadside. Sebastian Stone had just left home and was heading to work in Elk Grove Village when his trip was cut short near Torrence Avenue on I-80 west in Lansing, according to Illinois State Police.

GARDINER, Maine (WABI) - Officials say a Maine DOT worker was struck by a car while on the job this afternoon in Gardiner. The Department of Public Safety says it happened around 1:45 p.m. on 295 northbound. Three DOT workers employees were working to clear tire debris from the road, investigators say. Two workers were in a truck with warning lights on in the breakdown lane while another worker got out to remove the debris.

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - A two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning at the Kentucky-Tennessee line left two people injured. According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the crash on 11210 State Line Road after 7:30 a.m. Deputies learned that a 19-year-old man from Dresden, Tennessee was driving a passenger car westbound when he struck the rear end of a garbage truck. The driver, a 31-year-old man from Mayfield, Kentucky, was stopped at 11210 State Line Rd, with his emergency lights engaged and was exiting the vehicle when his garbage truck was rear-ended.

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. — A 24-year-old man was hit and killed by a vehicle while trying to fix his tire after being in a crash, according to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office. The coroner’s office said just before 11 p.m. Monday, June 22, authorities were called to the area of Whitehall and Pearman Dairy Road near the QuikTrip and Papa Bear Car Wash in Anderson. They said they found that two people had been hit by a car.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 10:20 p.m. Friday night around 237th Street and West Dodge Road. Once on the scene, deputies discovered that Blue had been hit by a vehicle.
