FATAL BURLESON CO. CRASH UNDER INVESTIGATION AFTER VEHICLE REAR-ENDS 18-WHEELER
Authorities in Burleson County are investigating a fatal weekend accident near Caldwell, involving a vehicle that drove into the back of an 18-wheeler. DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz reports that the two-vehicle accident occurred after 5 a.m. Saturday in the 5600 block of Highway 36, roughly five miles south of Caldwell. According to Sgt. Ruiz, a 2002 Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer was stopped on the right-hand shoulder of the road, facing south.

DAVIDSON, N.C. — A 24‑year‑old Alabama woman was killed early Saturday after she was struck on Interstate 77 in Iredell County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. A 27-year-old man named Zach Alfi was seriously injured while trying to help a driver who had spun out on Route 24 in Freetown, Massachusetts. Alfi, who had just married his wife Molly in September, pulled over to check on the other driver but was then struck by a third vehicle as he was walking back to his own car. Alfi suffered multiple broken bones and is facing a long recovery, but his wife says they are grateful he is alive.

A tractor trailer operator from Canada was killed early Friday morning in a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 86 in the Town of Nichols. The crash took place shortly before 2 a.m. March 6 in the westbound lane of I-86 between exits 63 and 62, according to New York State Police at Owego. A preliminary investigation at the scene determined a 2020 Mitsubishi SUV operated by Kaden T. Watson, 21, of Warren Center, Pennsylvania, was traveling west on the highway when his vehicle went off the roadway and struck a guard rail.

ATTLEBORO, Mass. — A man who died Wednesday when his car crashed into a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, has been identified. Chad Askew, 43, of Mansfield, Massachusetts, suffered life-threatening injuries when his car struck the tractor-trailer on the northbound side of the highway before Exit 4. Two tractor-trailers were in the breakdown lane when the car struck one of the trucks, officials said. No operators or attendants of the tractor-trailers were at the scene when police arrived, officials said.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the person killed in an afternoon crash March 2 on Interstate 75 in Anderson County. Steven J. White, 54, of Tennessee, was killed when the 2016 Mazda CX-5 he was driving struck the rear of a semi-truck parked on the right hand shoulder of the interstate’s southbound lanes near mile marker 125, according to the THP’s preliminary report. The driver of the 18-wheeler was injured.

On March 2, 2026, a tragic crash on Interstate 30 in Sulphur Springs, Texas claimed the lives of a 35-year-old woman and a 1-year-old boy. According to the Sulphur Springs Police Department, the woman was driving a 2014 Ford Transit van eastbound around 3:00 a.m. when the vehicle veered onto the shoulder and struck the rear of a parked 18-wheeler.
