1 dead in fiery semi truck crash on I-95: FHP
A semi-truck driver was killed early Thursday morning on Interstate 95 after he crashed into the back of a disabled semi that had hit a deer, causing his truck to catch fire, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The southbound lanes were closed for several hours overnight into Thursday morning, and reopened around 12 p.m. What we know: The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. on southbound I-95 at mile marker 276 in Ormond Beach.

Arlington, Ore., Aug. 12, 2026 — A motorist was killed and an Oregon Department of Transportation employee was critically injured Tuesday afternoon when a vehicle struck an ODOT maintenance vehicle and then hit both people along Interstate 84 west of Arlington, according to the Gilliam County Sheriff’s Office. Frontier Regional 911 received multiple reports of a serious crash involving several vehicles and pedestrians at about 2:39 p.m. Aug. 11 near milepost 123, approximately 14 miles west of Arlington.

A man died after being struck by a Tesla while standing behind his disabled pickup truck on State Route 14 in Acton, Los Angeles County, on Monday night, August 10, 2026. According to the California Highway Patrol Newhall-area Office, officers received a report around 10:56 p.m. of a two-vehicle collision and a person in the southbound lanes of State Route 14, south of Ward Road. CHP officers and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded and found a white Ford pickup truck and a red Tesla sedan blocking lanes.

Two people were critically injured after a passenger car crashed into the rear of a stopped 18-wheeler on Interstate 20 in Tye, Texas, shortly before 9:00 a.m. According to police at the scene, the 18-wheeler was stopped on the interstate when the passenger vehicle struck the rear of the commercial truck. The driver of the car was airlifted to a hospital, while a passenger was transported by ambulance. Both were reported to be in critical condition.

ISP said a Toyota Prius and a Honda CRV were parked in the Eastbound shoulder of Highway 20 at mile marker 286 around 2:00 am Saturday when a Chevy Equinox hit both cars and the driver of the CRV. A 24-year-old from Dubuque died in the incident.

A pair of semi trucks collided after one slowed to avoid hitting a construction worker gathering up orange cones. The crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. in Ogden, Utah on Interstate 15. According to ABC4, the first semi truck approached a construction zone and slowed down as a worker walked around gathering construction cones. A second semi truck then failed to brake in time and crashed into the first semi truck, causing a crash that also involved a car.

DAYTON — Two people were injured after a driver hit them while trying to fix a disabled vehicle on U.S. 35 on Thursday night. Officers responded around 9:15 p.m. to Eastbound U.S. 35 near Liscum Drive for a pedestrian crash, according to a Dayton Police Department (DPD) spokesperson. An initial investigation showed that two people were on the side of EB U.S. 35 trying to repair a disabled vehicle when a vehicle hit them and ran from the scene.

OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Oconee County Coroner’s Office reports it was called to a crash on Highway 28 on Friday. The South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 2012 Chevrolet pickup, traveling west on SC 28 around 2 p.m., hit the back of a 2014 Hyundai Elantra, which was stopped. The pickup then went off the right side of the road and hit a construction traffic flagger near Yellow Branch Falls.

A 25-year-old Odin woman has died in a crash on southbound I-57 three miles south of Dix. Jefferson County Coroner Roger Hayse pronounced Madison Burton dead in the emergency room of Good Samaritan Hospital. He says Burton was waiting in her car on the shoulder of the road for help to arrive to assist her in changing a flat tire. Her car was apparently struck in the rear by a pickup truck that had left the roadway.
