Update: Victims of Roth Bridge crash identified; investigation continues

A Middletown man and a Wilmington woman have been identified as the two people who died in a collision with a disabled tractor-trailer on southbound Route 1 on the Roth Bridge. The crash occurred late Sunday night, shortly after the truck became disabled when it was hit by another car. The tractor-trailer was going slowly and had its hazard lights flashing when it was first struck by a car which had changed lanes.

2 people found dead in submerged car that went unnoticed for hours in southwest Houston bayou

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – The medical examiner is working to figure out how two people died in southwest Houston after their bodies were found inside a car several hours after it went underwater in a bayou on Monday. No one may have known or noticed the car was submerged initially. Houston police said they think the driver was involved in a single-car crash around 3 a.m. or 4 a.m. Someone heard the sound but didn’t discover the car in the bayou or call for help until almost half a day later, according to investigators.

Longview woman killed after hitting pickup stopped on I-20 shoulder

HARRISON COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A car crashed into a truck on the shoulder of I-20, killing one driver and leaving the other injured. On Oct. 30 at about 3:15 a.m., Nina L. Allen, 26, of Longview, was traveling east on I-20 in a Toyota Corolla when she struck a Ford F-150 that was disabled from a previous crash on the shoulder of the road, according to a DPS report. The crash happened about 3 miles east of Longview.

One Killed, One Injured in Fiery 18-Wheeler Crash on I-30 in Garland, TX

Garland, TX — November 1, 2022, one person died and another was injured when a semi-truck hit another on the shoulder of Interstate 30 in Dallas County. Authorities say the incident happened shortly before 5:00 a.m. on westbound I-30 near Zion Road. Preliminary investigation suggests an 18-wheeler was stopped on the shoulder for unknown reasons when another westbound big rig ran onto the shoulder and crashed into it. After the impact both trucks hit the retaining wall and one caught fire.

Stamford man dead after fiery three-car crash on Route 15

A 29-year-old Stamford man was killed in a three-car crash on Route 15 in Stamford late Monday, according to the Connecticut State Police. Troopers responded to Route 15 north near Exit 34 in Stamford after 10:15 p.m. for a crash. Preliminary investigations determined that a Saab sedan was driving in the left lane when it lost control and hit a wooden guide rail in the median. The car came to a stop across the left lane and was hit by a Toyota Highlander.

CHATHAM, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — UPDATE: A woman is fighting for her life and two people are dead after a semi-truck left the roadway, hit a guardrail, and crossed a median ditch on I-55 near exit 82. Illinois State Police say it then continued into the southbound lanes facing the wrong direction until it became disabled across all lanes of southbound traffic. We’re told a vehicle then crashed into the semi and a second vehicle crashed into it.

PLANT CITY, Fla. - Two drivers, an adult passenger a 12-year-old, and baby were killed following a crash in Plant City that occurred late Sunday night. Several others – both adults and children – were seriously injured. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 20-year-old female driver of a 2015 Ford Explorer was traveling north on State Road 39, near the Bruton Road intersection. The Zephyrhills woman had six female passengers in the SUV: a 56-year-old, a 12-year-old, a 1-year-old, a 22-year-old, a 31-year-old and a 5-year-old.

3 people seriously injured after van rear-ends car on I-75 in Fort Myers

On Sunday evening, three adults were seriously injured and three children received minor injuries after a van rear-ended a car on I-75 in Fort Myers. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a car driven by a 62-year-old man from Panama City stopped on the outside lane of northbound I-75, south of SR-82, around 5:45 p.m. A van driven by a 59-year-old woman from Lehigh Acres, with two adults and eight children as her passengers, was traveling north in the outside lane of I-75, approaching the car.

Heavy fog in Duval causes bad traffic crash in Baldwin

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax First Alert Weather Team has been tracking fog all morning long. That fog is what the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said led to a bad traffic crash earlier today in Baldwin. JFRD said it had multiple crews on the scene for hours. JFRD told Action News Jax that JSO was actually on the scene first after a car ran into a deer that they could not see because of the fog.

UPDATE: Man in ICU after I-75 pileup Monday morning

UPDATE: A man remains in the ICU Monday after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 in Catoosa County, which shut down a portion of the road for nearly four hours. The Georgia State Patrol confirmed a crash between two cars became a pileup as several other vehicles collided with the wreckage. It happened around 6:00 AM near Cloud Springs Road. Authorities said 37-year-old Wilfredo Diaz initially collided with a car on I-75 Northbound.
