Service tech killed in Route 80 hit-and-run in North Jersey while helping stopped vehicle
A service technician was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Route 80 while responding to a stopped vehicle in Warren County, authorities said. Ethan Schultz, 20, of Bangor, Pennsylvania, died when he was struck on the westbound side of the highway at 6:37 a.m. Oct. 23, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron. Based on the investigation, Schultz parked his vehicle on the shoulder in front of a disabled tractor-trailer at mile marker 14 in Frelinghuysen, Lebron said.

MIAMI COUNTY, OH (October 21, 2025) — A semi-truck driver is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel early Tuesday morning, leading to a multi-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 75 near State Route 571, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Accident Details: Emergency responders were dispatched at approximately 5:39 a.m. to the I-75 northbound on-ramp after receiving reports of a crash involving a semi-truck and multiple vehicles. Officials said the semi driver was traveling north when he allegedly fell asleep while driving.

McKINNEY, Texas - Crews have rescued the driver of a tow truck after a crash that left the cab dangling from an overpass. What we know: The crash happened on Wednesday afternoon on the southbound side of the Sam Rayburn Tollway at Hardin Boulevard in McKinney. Police said the driver of a tow truck lost control while trying to avoid a disabled vehicle, hit a concrete barrier, and came to rest on its side with the cab hanging off the overpass.

SWAN VALLEY — A 30-year-old Idaho Falls man died Monday morning when he struck a cow and his disabled vehicle was then hit by a pickup truck, state police said. The man, driving a 2010 Volkswagen CC, hit a cow on the roadway near Swan Valley around 6:55 a.m. and became disabled in the travel lane state police said, adding that a 2019 Ram 2500 pickup then struck the Volkswagen in thick fog and darkness.

The collision happened on the highway in the area of exit 40 just after 7 p.m. Investigators learned that a Chevrolet Impala was traveling in the left lane of four while a pedestrian, who state police identified as Santiago Jimenez, 30, of Meriden, was standing in the left shoulder following a prior crash.

SCHROON LAKE, N.Y. — One woman was killed Friday afternoon after her car crashed into a New York State Police vehicle during a traffic stop on I-87 North in Schroon Lake. State police say it happened just after 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Investigations found the state trooper had pulled over a 2011 Mercedes 350 for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, a 2015 Ford Transit with two passengers crashed into the rear of the marked state police vehicle.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — Troopers have identified a man who was struck and killed in a hit-and-run on the West Virginia Turnpike on Friday. Jack Walter, 63, of Middlesex, N.C., was killed when he was struck by a vehicle near the 63 mile marker of the West Virginia Turnpike, according to West Virginia State Police. Family members told WCHS Walter was traveling from his home in North Carolina to meet friends and family in Cincinnati, Ohio, for an NFL game.

WESTBY, Wis. – A 32-year-old man sustained serious injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while standing next to his disabled car on US Highway 14 Thursday night. The accident occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. on October 2, just east of Saugstad Road in Westby. Dalton Paulson, 32, was standing outside of his 2015 Hyundai Sonata on the driver’s side. His vehicle was disabled and stopped along the south shoulder of the road because it had run out of fuel.
