Longtime Tennessee reporter Wes Rucker dies in car accident. Tributes pour in
Longtime Tennessee sports reporter Wes Rucker died Thursday, Feb. 19, the only fatality of a multi-vehicle crash on I-40 West in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was 43 years old. Rucker’s death was confirmed by his father-in-law, David Goldberg, in a Facebook post published late Feb. 19. According to a Feb. 20 news release by the Knoxville Police Department, police officers responded to a five-vehicle crash on I-40 West at 4:50 p.m. ET on Feb.

SALISBURY, Mass. — A Massachusetts man is facing charges after a state police trooper was injured when their cruiser was struck on the North Shore Saturday afternoon. According to a state police spokesperson, the collision occurred around 2:15 p.m. when the trooper had stopped to remove a ladder from the left travel lane of I-95 south in Salisbury just prior to I-495. Moments after removing the ladder and returning to his cruiser and buckling his seatbelt, a vehicle struck the back of the cruiser suddenly and without warning.

NATCHITOCHES PARISH – One trucker is dead after being hit by another trucker while changing a flat on his rig. The crash occurred on Thursday afternoon at approximately 1:39 p.m. That is when Louisiana State Police (LSP) responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 49 near Mile Post 140. The crash claimed the life of 25-year-old Dejuan D. Dickerson of Highland Park, Mich. Police say the initial investigation revealed that a 2025 Freightliner was stopped on the southbound shoulder of I-49.

Two people were hurt Thursday night on Highway 28 near Quincy when a driver went off the road and hit a car on the shoulder of the highway. A man and woman who were standing next to the car were pinned between the vehicle and another car that was parked next to it. The crash was reported at 7:15 p.m. Feb. 12 on Highway 28 at Adams Road North, three miles east of Quincy.

A 63-year-old man standing on the shoulder of Route 15 in Sparta was struck and killed by a passing commercial vehicle after his car broke down Tuesday night, authorities said. The driver was on the northbound shoulder near milepost 9 when he was hit at about 8:30 p.m., Sparta police said. The man was pronounced dead at an area hospital. His identity will be provided after family notifications are complete.

LANDERS — A man who stepped onto Old Woman Springs Road early Thursday was hit and killed by a Bureau of Land Management officer in a patrol truck, the CHP said. Louisiana State Police troopers continue investigating a deadly crash that happened on the Basin Bridge in Iberville Parish. The crash happened around 2 a.m. near mile marker 128.3 at Whiskey Bay between the St. Martin & Iberville parish line. State Police says a driver in a pickup was involved in a crash, disabling his own truck in the westbound lane of travel. At the same time, a big rig hit that disabled truck.
