Two men hospitalized after South Side hit-and-run while jump-starting car
SAN ANTONIO — Two men were hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash while jump-starting a vehicle on the city’s South Side. The incident occurred Saturday night around 9:24 p.m. on the 800 block of Probandt Street, where a major accident was reported. According to SAPD, two men were trying to jump-start a vehicle in the northbound lanes of the location when a dark-colored Jeep struck the disabled vehicle and both individuals. The impact allegedly threw the victims into the roadway.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Multiple injuries have been reported after a multi‑vehicle pileup, including an ambulance, shut down part of southbound US‑131 early Saturday morning. Michigan State Police (MSP) said the crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on southbound US‑131 near Burton Street. The preliminary investigation showed a BMW was traveling too fast for the icy road conditions, lost control and crashed. Several other vehicles then lost control and crashed into each other.

A Maine dad was seriously injured after being hit by a car while helping a teenage driver who slid off the road in the snow. The 54-year-old man stopped on Interstate 95 in Veazie on the evening of Monday, March 23 after spotting an 18-year-old girl who crashed near mile marker 189, Maine State Police said in a news release. He was identified as Scott Thibodeau by family, who told CBS affiliate WABI that he was heading home with his wife following a vacation when they stopped to help the teen.

SULLIVAN, N.Y. – A Little Falls man faces charges after a tractor-trailer hit a New York State Police patrol vehicle on the New York State Thruway in Madison County. New York State Police reported that around 1 p.m. on March 25, a trooper stopped near mile marker 273 in the Town of Sullivan to clear debris from the road. The patrol vehicle had its emergency lights on and was parked in the right lane.

A 19-year-old service technician died after he was struck by a passing vehicle while responding to a disabled car on I-696 this week, officials said. According to the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the man responded to a disabled vehicle on the shoulder of eastbound I-696 near Mound Road in Warren on March 23. After activating his emergency lights and leaving his vehicle to assist the disabled car, officials say a passing vehicle caused another car to swerve onto the shoulder, fatally striking the man.

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper was not injured after a tractor-trailer struck his patrol vehicle early Tuesday on Interstate 95, according to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office. The crash happened around 3:21 a.m. on March 24 along northbound I-95 near mile marker 75. Investigators said the trooper had stopped on the shoulder to assist a disabled vehicle when a passing tractor-trailer hit the marked patrol car.

A driver who stopped on Route 21 in Essex County to help another motorist early Tuesday was struck and critically injured by a passing vehicle, police said. The man pulled over about 4 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Exit 8 in Nutley, according to Police Chief Thomas J. Strumolo. “The person stopped on the side of the highway and was crossing the road to assist a motorist with a flat tire and was struck by the vehicle,” Strumolo said.

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — Multiple people were injured after a crash Monday night that involved a tractor trailer and a number of passenger vehicles. At about 11:09 p.m., State Police responded to the report of a multi car crash on I-90 westbound in the area of exit 6A. The investigation has determined a vehicle traveling westbound on I-90 stopped to assist a disabled vehicle on the left side shoulder. State Police say that while the driver of the assisting vehicle was out of the vehicle, they were struck by an unknown passing vehicle that did not stop.
